Pidcock testing MTB equipment......(and note the Pinarello Crossista CX bike)
Thanks for postingPidcock testing MTB equipment......(and note the Pinarello Crossista CX bike)
I’ll be grabbing some Italian beers from the shop later and watching the highlights on GCN I think. Let’s face it, things only get really interesting in the final hour from both a racing and a scenery perspective.
Hoping for a titanic battle between MVDP, WvA and Alaphilippe. Wouldn’t want to call it between those three but I’d like WvA to take it.

Hot on the heels of Jiffy gate and its ever changing explanations (usualy when it was provable the explanation given was utter tosh) and Dr Freemans recent escapades, its not looking good for British Cycling with a rider positive for Nandrolone in 2010. and WADA about to investigate.
Its ok though, it was just a low level and (as per the BBC article) probably just for health reasons or contaminated supplements nudge nudge wink, wink.
They must think people were born yesterday. It's a total farce. Freeman is hardly a lone operator and unless he starts naming names it looks like he will be first under the bus. It needs ex riders/staff to start speaking out.
It's all very sad really. More proof (as if any were needed) that a) professional sports are totally riddled with drugs cheats and b) when it looks too good to be true, it is.

Yes, but only certain sports are labelled as 'dirty' and full of dopers.....most of the major sports ignore it, and carry on regardless. A shame all these investigative journalists don't bother looking at sports than aren't cycling/athletics........I want clean sport, but I'm fed up with the double standards......

I agree, Cycling has been the whipping by for all of this for fr too long. Funny how other sports don't get singled out isn't it. Fuentes is on record about doping many other non cycling athletes as well as possibly the Spanish football team. Where is the indignation about that? (other than niave denial from blinkered fans of course) I wonder if the MASSIVE amounts of money in other sports could have any bearing on that, im sure its just coincidence though.I want clean sport, but I'm fed up with the double standards......
Sports jounos by and large do a truly terrible job (with one or two exceptions of course). I'm fking sick of hearing "are you happy you won, will your parents be proud?" jesus h christ thanks for the searching questions, I wonder if somenone is happy they won, its hard to tell isnt it, thank god idiot journos are there to get the scoop. They should be ashamed to call themselves journalists. They simply strap themselves into the gravy train and try not to spit in the soup. Shameful.
RE 2012 Olympics. Im sure in due course we will find out they just used the oldest trick in the book. Hard work. I'm sure thats what it was.
2012 was a freak of circumstances, people coming in to their prime in the right week was something like 4 years in the making and planned to the nth degree.
Hoy was the worlds best, Kenny the heir apparent. Keirin and sprint sorted. Pendleton and Meares (Aus) were in a class of their own, had been the best in the world for years before and shared the medals. The pursuit teams were just better drilled, a far more cohesive unit compared to their closet rivals, you could see that by just watching them. The women only really had the US to beat, the men had to beat Australia, the home crowd was worth 0.5s a lap easy.
Ironically GB could have won more, the women’s team sprint were the fastest pair in the competition but got a DQ for an early change, Pendleton could have won the match sprint too but Meares badly wanted revenge after the keirin and was just mentally tougher.
