I've been watching. Bit pissed off with Eurosport moving the highlights all over the place. Settled down at 9 to watch them yesterday and they weren't on till 11.30. Still double bubble tonight.
That crash when the AUS lady went full tilt in to the other one looked horrible.
Yeah, that crash was a proper "oh sh*t!!" moment when i saw it. The one yesterday when a team car ran into the back of a rider and knocked her off was another one. That crash when the AUS lady went full tilt in to the other one looked horrible.

No love for the Tour de France Femmes?
Well I throughly enjoyed that! After the mens tour it was like the cherry on the cake. Plenty of drama, crashes, brutal stages, 24% gradient on gravel...Great support from the public, great for women's sport and cycling.
Vos amazing, Van Vleuten, incredible win after being ill. (just in case anyone doesn't want to know the winner before watching the highlights
Looking forward to more...
Nairo Quintana has been retrospectively disqualified from last month's Tour for using a banned substance.
Tom Dumoulin has brought forward his retirement from cycling, effective immediately. He had hoped to do the World Champs later this year as his swansong, but says his tank is already empty.

As The Mad Monk's attached link states, it's not an Anti Doping violation. He's used a banned substance, yes, but it's not a performance enhancing one. Tramadol (check the BNF - British National Formulary - entry for it) has side effects the UCI regard as "not conducive" to riding in a peloton. Side effects like "confusion; constipation; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; euphoric mood; flushing; hallucination". Not sure I'd like to be a professional bike racer cutting about in a peloton with riders who could (through administration of a banned substance) be confused, dizzy, drowsy, or hallucinating. So he's been disqualified retrospectively from the 2022 TdF, but not banned from competition, because it's not a "cheating" issue but a "rider safety" one.Tom Dumoulin has brought forward his retirement from cycling, effective immediately. Looking at the amount of poor riding standards, and crashes, maybe others are on it as well......
European XCO men's race this afternoon; Pidcock returns but is gridded at around 36; his closest rival, Mathias Flueckiger has returned a positive drug test, and won't race. Doesn't look to be the most technically demanding course, but looks fast.

That's a shame as he always comes across as a nice chap! I thought he'd been racing in the Vuelta but he's been dropped from that.Tom Dumoulin has brought forward his retirement from cycling, effective immediately. Vuelta starts today - looks like the only place to watch it is Eurosport now. Shame ITV no longer provide the highlights.
