So G to take it in the third week then? Anyone? Or just me with my 10/1 EW gamble. It’s probably his best chance yet of another win.

Myocarditis is associated with elevated risk of sudden cardiac death in athletes (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8002711/) and c19 with elevated risk of myocarditis, unlike some other viruses.

It's not a risk worth taking.
Exactly - I can't believe people are even questioning this. Even recently a few have retired due to heart issues......Colbrelli, Haussler....
I couldn't agree more, I remember back in the day, when I thought I had recovered from bronchitis, went out for an easy training ride (so I thought) and ended up stopping and blacking out at the side of the road. Interestingly enough, last August, I had an ECG done as part of all my Long Covid tests. It revealed that at some time in the past I had a myocardial infarction, but the doctors aren't taking any other action.

Some nasty crashes in today's stage, feel sorry for Tao as it looked like the group hit a patch of oil or something given the way several went down

They’ve had some horrendous luck and weather this year. Another 4 members of the Quickstep team have gone home with COVID as well.

At this rate they’ll have about 40 finishers.

What happened to the Giro on TV last night?

All I got was people building cabins in the woods, with a message flashing up something about "apologies for the change in the Listings".

Same here. At first I thought maybe the stage had been cancelled, but no. I made do with a short highlights clip on Youtube instead.

I can't say I'm surprised and I think it's the right call. He hasn't really found his mojo this season. Astana isn't the right team for him but he's got precious few options elsewhere.

I'd love him to get the victory he needs at the TdF to beat Mercx's record but I'm certainly not holding my breath.

Good day for Geraint, riding away from Roglic.

It's tense now. All on the time trial. G has a little bit of a buffer, but will it be enough?

G will be going last yes? Radios informing him of the time gap?

Yes. And hopefully staying upright.

He’s managed not to crash so far fingers crossed. He’s just got to match Roglic which he’s done every stage so far come on G you can do it.

Was so refreshing to see G jump on Roglic's wheel straight away when he attacked, rather than "riding to numbers".

Fingers crossed he gets it done today!

They’ll all change bikes at the foot of the climb today. And the spare bike will be carried on motorbike as the road can’t take cars. The TT is split into 3 groups with 90 min gaps between each group to allow the cars to come back down to the start again.

I genuinely have no idea who’s going to win today. The climb is a brute and coming at the end of three weeks of racing, there could be gains and losses of minutes in the GC.

I’m hoping G hangs on.

It’s not very long though and G has the advantage of knowing what everyone else has done. Roglic has to go full out which could be hard to judge as it’s brutally steep to the very end. It’s going to be great.

Length is pretty irrelevant - all about the climb and that is plenty hard enough for there to be big gaps.
