I guess it will depend on who they get as the pundits.
Not happy neither.
It'll be interesting to see how it works out for them. My guess is they'll struggle to get people listening more than Radio 5 Live does as Radio 5 Live is twice as popular (by total number of hours listened) according to this:

So you've got a bigger audience and in turn greater awareness as a result of your main channel ready to punt over to the second channel assuming the BBC would broadcast it on R5L SX and TalkSport on TalkSport2. I wouldn't be surprised if it returned to the BBC after a couple of years.
For the most part I tend to follow on CricInfo these days, but i certainly agree i'd rather it had stayed with the BBC.

Hearing rumours that Surrey are considering signing all 3 members of the Australian Sandpaper Appreciation Society to play county cricket IF the ECB allow it.
If the ECB allow it, the ECB should be both ashamed and abolished.
I'm a Surrey fan & i'd be gutted if this happens , What is Sir Alec thinking ?If the ECB allow it, the ECB should be both ashamed and abolished.
Must be the Chelsea fan coming out in him.
I'll not be going to the Oval this year if this is true. fk me, we have enough good young talent to introduce .
We will be the laughing stock of the summer , Please say this is a wind up H .

Some of those comments on there are terrific.Farcical.
I fail to see how dropping a a maximum of 40 balls from the shortest format of the game is going to make it more appealing to young people? What difference is it going to make?
I've an idea...make more games available on free-to-air.
Having said that I won't be watching the city based 20 over tournament or this abomination. I cannot get excited about supporting a new franchise.

The problem with the shortest format of the game in England isn’t the format - 2 innings of 20 overs works fine. There’s so much more that could be improved instead of fannying around with the overs . The scheduling could be improved, more matches on tv, more overseas players, cheaper tickets at the grounds which don’t usually sell out, letting te contracted ECB play more domestic T20 stuff etc etc.
Stupid thing is, T20 used to be held over a concentrated few weeks with games held every night of the week. Unfortunately the counties realised that the most popular days were Friday and Saturday so wanted to hold games then, leading to the T20 Blast which goes on for ages and is mixed up with the other county games.
The best T20 series (IPL and Big Bash) both use the concentrated format, and are better for it.

I love Talksport in the morning. Won't listen to anything else. But the afternoon show with Gough and Durham is dire - mostly because of Durham it has to be said, but...
...Gough's not the most enthralling presenter and he has to be in the hot seat. Which also would not then surprise me if KP made an appearance.
I doubt I'll be tuning in.
BBC are a shambles.
the whole franchise thing will be a complete failure. year 1 will have a curiosity factor and oval and lords will still get busy for afterwork booze ups as they do for the blast. the other grounds will be full at first then tail off rapidly.
uk doesn't like franchises. the audience they are claiming to be chasing doesn't exist. messing with the format makes no difference, city franchises simply alienate the majority of cricket followers who now won't go (bar oval and lords on work nights as mentioned)
its simply a backdoor means of getting rid of the non test match counties.
the blast is a popular product. attendances have been going up. the same grounds who cant make it work will continue to not make the new one work, yorks, birmingham, glamorgan, hants, lancs (other than roses games) etc.
publicity and public perception is low simply because of the lack of free to air. put the blast on bbc a couple of time s a week and you would achieve the exact same result as the new format, if not better as you are not alienating the majority of current tribal supporters, and not dumbing down that is completely unnecessary. anyway graves is a complete as anyone who has met the guy will attest. (a successful one but still a complete a hole) his lackey harrisson is no better, and his ambition is to concentrate ecb money in 8 grounds so that yorks benefit and the 'graves family trusts' (colin himself) gets a return on the masses of money he has leant Yorks.
