Sri Lanka just won the second and final test of the series too. Given how poor Sri Lanka have been for a number of years now, and how difficult it is for Asian sides to win in South Africa I think this ranks as one of the biggest shocks in test cricket history.
Yep. Great achievement. Amirhussain said:

Yep. Great achievement. Ramps gone as England batting coach.

I only wonder why it took so long. Presumably its a decision from the King of Spain, if so he's smarter than I gave him credit for.

So a countdown clock is at the end of an over is being out forwards I’m test cricket, and a timer for batsmen/fielders to be in position after a wicket has fallen. Not too sure about free hit after a no ball though...limited overs is fine but not test cricket IMO.

Alex Hales has played down the wrong line and been given out. “...once the other Wags found out what had happened, it was decided that someone should tell Danni”. Ouch.

Has anyone seen the Jos Buttler run out today ?
Yep, was watching at the time mate.I gather it's in the rules that he can do it but it's not in the spirit of the game. I'm far from Corinthian in my attitude towards sport and winning but that action stunk to high heaven. Found myself cheering on Buttler's team after that, sadly to no avail.
Although such an act is not an infringement of the laws of cricket, to some it is considered unsporting and against the spirit of the game.
However, famed cricketer Sir Don Bradman in his autobiography defended Mankad's action, saying:
"For the life of me, I can't understand why [the press] questioned his sportsmanship. The laws of cricket make it quite clear that the nonstriker must keep within his ground until the ball has been delivered. If not, why is the provision there which enables the bowler to run him out? By backing up too far or too early, the nonstriker is very obviously gaining an unfair advantage."

There was no attempt to bowl the ball, it was a dead ball. Just like when the batsmen walk down the wicket to do a bit of gardening and they are not run out then.
If that was a live ball then in theory every bowler can pull out before bowling to stump the non-batsmen's wicket (whether they are in their crease or not) every ball of a last over without bowling a single ball to prevent the other team getting the one vital run needed for victory.

Yes in this instance it doesn't look like Buttler was stealing yards prior to the delivery. Normally I'd say it's fair game despite the protests but in this instance I think the umpire got it wrong and it's not out as he was in the crease when he could "reasonably expect the bowler to have delivered the ball"
