That was pretty low by Ashwin, he didn’t even warn Buttler. And Ashwin is an experienced international player, not some young rookie.
The IPL has been running for over a decade now and they have ~60 matches a season - yet this is the first such dismissal. Ashwin has opened up a can of worms here as others will no doubt try the same (especially against Ashwin’s team).

That was an entertaining finish to today’s match. Dhoni walking onto the field all Vince McMahon esq was out of order though.
Sam Curren is having a very good IPL. Ben Stokes not so much - the commentators keep on going on about whether his £1.4 million salary is becoming a burden on his shoulders.

So it seems Jofra Archer is in the frame for WC selection.
I am trying to understand the motivation behind these quotes with Woakes and Willey both saying it would be unfair if he was selected. Since when do players in a squad get to bh about competition for places? Is it because he's Barbadian and recently qualifies? Even so - play by the rules and suck it up.

It would "not be fair morally" for England to pick the uncapped Jofra Archer in their World Cup squad, says fellow all-rounder Chris Woakes.
Sussex's Archer, 24, has played only 14 one-day matches in his career but has impressed in Twenty20 cricket.
England, the world's number one side, name their provisional 15-man squad on Wednesday.
"If he was to come in and someone was to miss out, it would be extremely unfortunate," Woakes told BBC Sport.
"We've been a tight-knit group for the last two to three years, played some really strong cricket, won a lot of series.
"Apart from a personal level, I wouldn't want to see any of my mates and team-mates miss out.
"But it's the nature of international cricket that there is always someone knocking on the door.
"I don't think it would disrupt the team because everyone would find a way to move on and we're trying to win a World Cup for England - that's the bigger picture."
Barbados-born fast bowler Archer, whose father is English, has a UK passport. He qualified earlier this year after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) changed its residency rules.
Rated one of the most valuable limited-overs players in the world because of his 90mph bowling, athletic fielding and aggressive batting, he is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
England coach Trevor Bayliss said Archer will feature in the one-day internationals against Ireland and Pakistan in May, with England also naming a 17-man squad for those matches on Wednesday.
'Everyone will be looking over their shoulder'
Even if Archer is not included in the provisional World Cup squad, England can make changes to it until 23 May. They face South Africa in the tournament opener on 30 May.
Woakes described Archer, who has signed for £800,000 by Rajasthan in last year's IPL, as a "world-class player".
Asked whether there would be extra pressure on Archer if he was called up, Woakes said: "He might thrive off it or it might have the opposite effect.
"But from what everyone is hearing he might be part of the Ireland and Pakistan matches so there will be pressure on everyone to perform.
"Everyone will be looking over their shoulder and that's a good place to be as a team because it constantly makes you want to improve and make sure you are a part of that 15."
England seamer David Willey said in March that he did not know "whether someone should just walk in at the drop of a hat because they're available".
Last week, fast bowler Mark Wood said selecting Archer risked changing the "dynamic" of Eoin Morgan's side.
But all-rounder Ben Stokes, who plays alongside Archer for the Royals, said he is the most "naturally gifted" bowler he has seen.

Or is it because he's new and inexperienced? Only 14 one-day matches in his entire career, and none at international level. He should at least be given a bowl in the warm-up matches to prove himself before being committed to the WC squad. We became the number 1 ODI side in the world without him, so he shouldn't just be able to walk into that squad with no prior experience, no matter how good he is. Let him knock over the Pakistanis next month first.I am trying to understand the motivation behind these quotes with Woakes and Willey both saying it would be unfair if he was selected. I'd argue it is because they are most at risk of losing their place to Archer. Having seen him make his debut at Hove a couple of years ago against Pakistan it was only a matter of time before he got an international call up!
In lighter news...has anyone seen the new Fosters advert with the 2 lads in the shack? It's brilliant.

Just turned on Dhoni needs 26 of last over, now just need 2 of last ball! crazy game! missed the ball and now either super over or ran out!
Crazy, crazy game BG. Watched it from four overs out, when CSK needed 57. Dhoni was refusing singles even though he had Dwayne Bravo at the other end then he hits a helicopter six off a no ball. Could have been one of the greatest final over run chases ever but fell down because the non striker wasn't wuite speedy enough backing up...In the RLOD Cup today, Somerset won by two runs over Glamorgan despite the last pair needing 60 when they came together. In the Roses match, Lancs beat Yorks by one run..... proof if it were needed that there's no need to mess about with the competitions of cricket and absolutely no need to bring in the new "100" game.
Another blistering innings in IPL12, this one from AB de Villers.
He's on 25 off 25 balls, ends on 82 off 44 balls. Last three overs went for 64 runs including eight sixes. One of his shots was utterly incredible; it's almost a beamer and he ducks under it, angles his bat towards the ball and it ends up soaring out of the ground, landing on the roof.....
If I had to pick my all time ultimate T20 team, he'd have to be in it. IMO, the most creative and inventive batsman in the history of the shortest form of the game... while Gayle is sheer brute power and Kohli is arguably more clever and precise, AB combines the two perfectly.

Got some freeby tickets form a Kent council family member to watch Pakistan play Kent yesterday at Beckenham.
Lovely little ground, so col to literally be able to stand on the rope as a few were talking to international players.
And also to watch them play, they are going to be a big threat in the tour and WC I think, bowlers look lethal!
Was damn windy though!

Just read that the USA have gained ODI status.
As a former British colony, the U.S. does have proper cricketing heritage going back to the early 18th century. I think the sport went into a decline in the late 19th century though when baseball became more popular.I don't think you can have too many cricketing nations.

The PSL has produced some good bowlers so far for Pakistan. Hasan Ali, Fahim Ashraf & Shadab Khan have made a name for themselves. Few bowlers to watch out for are Musa Khan, Ghulam Mudassar & Mohammad Hasnain who’s a 140-150 kph bowler. I read that Aamir has not been chosen for the World Cup. Painful as it is, I have to agree. I think he might be finished tbh, not the threat he once was and the odd spells of brilliance aren’t good enough.
Just wish our batsmen could give our bowlers something to defend consistently.
