Yes, it was excellent, certainly warts and all..
I wonder how long KP would have played for if things had been different? Arrogant dick but bloody amazing player, such talent
But not just KP suffering under that regime. I wonder how long KP would have played for if things had been different? Arrogant dick but bloody amazing player, such talent
Prior, Finn and Trott all suffered with the constant grind. I think KP raised fair points.
Surprising to see a few plaers admit to just breaking down in tears.
What was also deliciously clear was that there really was no love between the bowlers and the batters of that team.
It is a fabulous insight, I feel genuinely sorry for Trott, the pressure put on the players then was staggering. And the KP Sky thing, his rhino stuff and this have also showed me a different side to him.
As he says, properly managed he would have been fine, should never have been captain like Fred, but there was no better batsmen, yes he could be a liability, but on his day unplayable. He should have been managed better, either forced contractually to not do IPL or 20/20, or taken from the test team.
I think the selectors and management bowed down too much to Broad who seems to come across even now as a bit of a snot nose bully, and especially Swann and the keeper (forgot his name sorry) who is clearly on the defensive a lot in both films and is not seen much.

So not just the pressure to perform from a sporting perspective but also serious financial pressure too.

Today's T20 between England and Pakistan is being shown live on BBC1!
Good to see this .Good win by England BTW. Sadly, the 3rd match on Tuesday may be weather affected, which is a shame.
Edited by pequod on Monday 31st August 19:32
The England Test captain needs to concentrate on the 'long' game and not getting involved in T20 matches. One day international matches is all the limited overs practice he needs and aside from the County stuff, we cannot risk him getting injured or loosing form prior to the ashes series.
I hope the weather gods will be kind for the forthcoming matches against Australia?

Root dropped for the Aussie T20’s
Sunday Afternoon, 2nd match one the BBC
Good news.
I quite like the enforced separation of the Test and limited overs formats, it is giving quite a few new or fringe players a decent runout. I really enjoyed yesterday's T20, especially as I thought Pakistan batted rather well against some rather erratic bowling, so our boys did well to turn that around. Root could stand to learn a lot from Eoin Morgan in terms of body language. Morgan exudes confidence and looks every inch the captain, Root often looks despondent or nervous to me, especially when wickets aren't falling. Sunday Afternoon, 2nd match one the BBC
Good news.
