That's not going to do anything for Test cricket in India.

The likes of Laxman and Dravid will be very unimpressed.

Hazelwood 5-8. Commins got the rest (1 retired hurt).

India all out for 36.

An excellent bowling attack, and everything went Australia's way - edges carried, catches were held, etc.
All very Trent Bridge 2015.

More of the same from cheating Steve Smith.

That's low. For a man with so much talent, he really sets a terrible example.

Awful behaviour. Never seen or heard of anybody doing that at any level.
He`ll live to regret doing that.
Aussies have regressed to type.
Chirping, sledging, gamesmanship all back to pre SandpaperGate levels.
Great performance from India, proper gutsy rear guard batting.

Read Paine on the Sydney Morning Herald claiming that Smith was simply shadow batting. To be fair the Aussies seem to be sticking the boot into him too.

Steve Smith is one of the best batsmen in the game (though not on current form) but even by his standards this seems very strange behaviour indeed. I don't think any fielder in the 4th innings has any business in the crease, especially during a drinks break, especially as he is neither a wicket keeper nor a regular bowler.

Paine needs to wind his neck in a bit as well.

You start to wonder if the next Ashes might not be the foregone conclusion it usually is (2010 notwithstanding). I reckon the Kiwis could give the Aussies a tonking too.

"It's something I do to visualise where we are bowling," Smith told News Corp.

"It's something I do to visualise how the batter is playing our bowlers and then out of habit I always mark centre."

WTAF is that load of old conkers?

You`re fielding in the 4th innings of a Test, you have no business being anywhere near the batting crease, let alone roughing it up with your spikes.

Should be banned again.

Agree re Smith.
What was he practicing for considering the 4th innings was going on?
Why shadow practice as a left hander?
Why shadow practice, move away and then come back and scuff the ground?
Very dodgy & should be banned again imo.

Definitely a load of bails.

Even in village cricket, the oldies playing will bk the younger players for wandering onto the wicket for no reason during a break.
We just don’t do it.

Which Ashes series in 2010 did you watch? I think you missed a few, England drew the last series and we won again in 2015.

No I mean that with the exception of 2010 (which I was fortunate enough to be in Australia to watch) England have generally lost emphatically in the Ashes series down under.

I believe the last time we won in Aus before that was in the mid-80s.

Strong start from Dan Lawrence, especially given the hard time he must've had last year. Just passed his fifty on debut.

Anyone see the Root dismissal appeal?
As soon as I saw the slo-mo replay I could see the ball hit bat then ground - surely after that it doesn’t matter if it hit any other part of him he can’t be out, caught?
Aggers was calling it out as he thought it hit the glove last?

I’ve only been a level 1 qualified ump for a year- perhaps I’m a natural at calling it? laugh
