Wow, just played the Vale resort outside Cardiff. Free day with Motonovo finance, fair play was cracking. It was very wet and only a few of us managed the full 18 , only my second game this year and only scored 18 in the stable ford but was a good laugh.
I've played there (had a weekend there). What course did you play?I haven't played much golf for the last couple of months as getting our Show House open had to take priority but that's out of the way now so I hope to play a bit more through the winter.
Last week I had a round by myself at Luton Hoo while my wife was in the spa, very wet and a really long course but not too bad a round for me apart from the par 5's, on the 11th the lake in front of the green claimed three balls before I made the green for an 11.
Tomorrow I'm playing the Goodwood Park course with three mates, I'm a member of the GRRC so get two rounds free so that will work out at £12.50 each, we'll have a nice lunch afterwards as well.

First game in 2 years today, 38 points playing off 16. Main course at Hoebridge if anyone knows it.
Well played, I know it well. Really like the course although the 17th is a tough one, especially in the summer.I'm playing The Berkshire again tomorrow first round in 6 weeks. Better hit the range.
Golf at Goodwood was fun yesterday, we got there early and had a nice cup of tea and a decent bacon sandwich before we started. The course was quite busy and very wet so no bounce or run when the balls landed but the greens were in pretty good condition and it was mild and not raining so the day looked good.
I have dodgy shoulders so don't get any distance but my driving has improved enormously this year and most were straight and on the fairway, putting was also okay but the shots in between were dire, wet fairways and no roll meant I was taking 3 - 4 shots to the green on a par 4, also my shots into the green nearly all managed to end up just on the front edge rough so my overall score was rubbish.
My cousin played the shot of the day on the last though, a 554 yard par 5, his 170 yard 7 wood third shot over a bunker into the green landed on it and with one bounce ended up a foot from the pin for a birdie, he's a really good golfer but that's one of the best shots I've ever seen him play.
We were one hole down at that stage so that got us all square which was the right result and had great steak pies and dripping cooked chips in the brasserie to finish the day.

Since winter had arrived I've not had nearly as much time to play, and hardly any over the holidays, until this week.
I've played 11 holes the last 2 days and a full 18 today. It gets harder to keep the bad holes away. I made 3 birdies and 6 pars today, but where I'd normally make bogey when I'm playing regularly I'm making bigger mistakes and walking away with double, or treble bogey on a couple of occasions. Just highlights the importance of regular playing practice!
On the upside, I got one of these bad boys for Christmas...
It's much easier to hit the ball pin high when you've got an exact yardage, rather than guessing how far the pin is from the front or middle of the green using GPS.

So, played yesterday and kinda wish I didn't. Only my third round of the year due to a shoulder injury but really felt that my swing/ball hitting was improving, that was until I actually teed off. 6 lost balls , 3/4 triple bogeys in a row , misreading greens on my putts and that was with only 12 holes playable.
Going to try and play at least 9 holes a week in 2016 , try and get some rhythm and regularity to my game.

Ok, so I sneaked another round in at Chart Hills today!
Played really well, very happy with my round.
Decent short game!Played really well, very happy with my round.
I played the Warwickshire Kings Course last week, I had 9 putts on the first two holes which put me 4 over! It was a wet, and I didnt believe the pace of the practice green.
In the end I shot 7 over, not bad for my first full 18 in a year! Heading off down the range this afternoon.
