you mean this young man 17 years old and 17 years ago.
What I admire about him is how he has improved over those 17 years .

Jesus. Shows you how far behind pro's your average club golfer is. Most of us can only dream of breaking 70 as an adult!I hate him.
Whilst their accuracy and control is amazing, it's not something I can't do, or can't understand. I just can't do it anything like as reliably.
What I literally cannot do, have never done, will never do, is achieve the other-worldly way the ball leaves their clubface.
The sound, shape, sheer bloody gleeful zip of a ball hit by one of the big boys is just something else entirely to anything you'll see at a 'normal' golf club.
The best player in any given club, probably off scratch or better, still doesn't really hit it anything like the way these lads do.
I recently paired-up with a lower-leagues pro (1836 tour - so he's good, but not really really good) for a round and he, basically, played like I do - just (a lot) better.
The top half of the PGA tour play a whole other game altogether.

An article in one if last months golf mags said the same more or less. A scratch player wouldn't break 80 in a tour event, or 90 in a major. I can well believe it too. I'm off to the belfry for 2 nights next week with 5 friends. We're playing all 3 courses. I'm not expecting to shoot anywhere near my handicap!

I know exactly what you mean. I watched the Volvo Matchplay in October i think it was. Had some complimentary tickets and got to see Stenson teeing it up. He was hitting his 3 wood into a good 20mph wind, about 20 yards further than i could hit my driver on a still warm day with no wind. That to me was crazy seeing as i'm not exactly a short hitter. And the control he had was just insane!
