Impressed with Katie Taylor. The commentators have spent a fair bit of time discussing how she compares to male fighters. She certainly looks the business! She spars with blokes too, which I found interesting to hear as I just assumed it wouldn't be done.
There's a video on YouTube of her sparring rigo lord trumpton said:
Monumentally stupid. What an incredibly selfish thing to do. Must be horrible to live without the sport you love but you can't have a death wish like that.Well, boxing throws up another oddity...
Walters is losing but he's basically unhurt and looking relatively fresh...then just suddenly he quits on his stool (and completely adamant about it he was too)...with his corner clearly trying to stop him pulling out...then Walters says his corner made the decision!

Certainly sounds a bit odd, I suppose its what makes the greats great, the mindset to push on against the odds, lomechenko is certainly one of the best technical boxers I've ever seen, it must be very frustrating for his opponents, not only is he incredibly hard to catch clean but his hand speed is unreal.Walters is losing but he's basically unhurt and looking relatively fresh...then just suddenly he quits on his stool (and completely adamant about it he was too)...with his corner clearly trying to stop him pulling out...then Walters says his corner made the decision!
Bt sport showed the 30 for 30 about Larry Holmes and Ali last night, its incredibly sad footage of a boxer who didn't know when to quit... Its a cruel sport sometimes.

I think he did well, history will show he did well as,IMO, he was in against one of the future all time greats. Also the boxing stars are running him down but praise Duran...what is the difference, Duran realised he could not make an impression so did Walters, not cowardice just a fact...he was outclassed.

Is there any news on the German fella who was taken to hospital after losing to Groves? Can't remember his name.
Eduard Gutknecht...no, I've been Googling every few days but there doesn't seem to have been any updates since last weekend. Really hoping no news is good news but starting to worry a bit; we were hearing more positive news about Nick Blackwell after the Eubank fight by this stage. Just keeping fingers crossed for the guy...Yiliterate said:

OK Loma was as sharp as a tack and got better and better, especially after R4 but nevertheless its almost as if he had made that decision (or been paid to) before he climbed in the ring.
There was no real effort to figure Loma out, it was like his game plan wasn't paying off so feck it.
I don't trust Arum tbh, I'm sure his fingers were in the decision. Now he's on about sticking Loma in with Pacquiao - a fight I'd hate to see as I feel Loma would make him look slow and old and he doesn't deserve that. Arum just wants it for the money from the fight and the ongoing milk from Lomas new found status. He would just be using Manny for the Loma golden ticket.

£60 to sit in the rafters for Haye v Bellew...
Think I'll get the PPV!
Haye dupes the public again, unbelievableThink I'll get the PPV!
not sure why there's any interest in this easy fight for him
look @ the odds for example - 6.5 for Bellew / 1.10 for Haye - these are representative of the actual reality of the fight

Fair play to Tony for wanting a crack....nothing to lose for him.
I'd say Haye is faster, stronger, in better condition and hits harder than Bellew. The only way I see Bellew winning is if he takes it the full 12 but I can't see him taking 12 rounds of punishment from Haye.
I'm sure the shenanigans in the run up to the fight will be entertaining but this is another massive cop out. Bellew has decent fights at Cruiser having moved up not too long ago and Haye has got a long list of Heavyweights to pick and choose from following his comeback. I disapprove of this fight to be honest and won't be paying, as it is about as blatant attempt to prize the British Boxing fans away from their hard earned cash as I can remember.
