Is that the one where they built a bespoke grandstand out of a local forest just for the fight? They used some insane amount of wood which never got used again.

one of many pal, jack kearns was the don king x 10 of his day and regularly did this kind of thing....he built a bespoke stadium for dempsey / willard in 1919 with freshly chopped down pine....it was a baking hot day and every got stuck to the benches because of all the weeping sapThank god for TV

Some mouth watering fights coming up in the upcoming weeks/months
Haven't you stopped just short of the big one?- Frampton v Leo Santa Cruz on 28th January
- Haye v Bellew and Garcia vs Thurman on 4th March
- Golovkin v Jacobs on 18th March
In other news, WBC have ordered Badou Jack to defend his title against Callum Smith. Should Badou Jack move up to light heavy, Smith and Dirrell will fight for the vacant belt.

fkin hell pal
From a historical point of view this is a pivotal moment in heavyweight history....the fury blip in the graph aside....unless he comes back to be dominant, which I can't really see... this is on a level with holmes/ali ,loius/marciano or sullivan/ corbett in terms of a dominant old champ versus the future star...of course, joshua may not go on to be the future of the division but wladimir is certainly the last "great" champion with all he has achieved...
Is it a passing of the torch or has the old master still got one big performance left in him???
I can't wait!!!...
Amir...you are a hard man to please my friend

Until yesterday afternoon, I would have told anyone who'd listen that AJ vs Wlad was a perhaps a once-in-a-generation bona fide clash of the titans. But since failing to procure a ticket (as nobody was thoughtful enough to remind me they were going back on sale yesterday...that applies to everyone on here but I've decided to lay the blame for this specifically at the door of tuscaneer as he already has a well-established track record for failing to notify people of forthcoming events of interest), I've completely come around to Amir's point of view on this one. The man speaks the truth...if there was ever a fight that embodied the word 'Meh', it's this one. £XXX to watch the sporting equivalent of paint dry; nah, not for me....From a historical point of view this is a pivotal moment in heavyweight history....the fury blip in the graph aside....unless he comes back to be dominant, which I can't really see... this is on a level with holmes/ali ,loius/marciano or sullivan/ corbett in terms of a dominant old champ versus the future star...of course, joshua may not go on to be the future of the division but wladimir is certainly the last "great" champion with all he has achieved...
