Thought the scorecards weren't too far off the mark - Breidis the clear winner. He looked a well-schooled fighter but with maybe a little more to come...seemed to be happy to stick to his gameplan by and large as it was going well enough, but there were a few moments where he allowed himself a little more reign and showed he had a bit more in his locker beyond the tidy fighter working behind a nice jab, which was more than enough for 80% of the contest. I think seeing him in with a Gassiev will bring more out of him.
Not sure how much Huck has left to offer at this level...could see him trying his luck one final time against fellow veteran Denis Lebedev, but just don't think he has it left in him to go toe to toe with the new generation of Cruiserweights. Can't feel too sad for him though; he's had one hell of a run at it!

rather strange move by the WBC ???......either way, huck/breidis is a great fight and i'm backing the underdog to pull off the win. breidis has looked sensational to me over the last few fights and if we are being honest i don't blame bellew for going after a mega pay day at heavyweight rather than have to fight a lion like breidis for short money.....it's all academic anyway because as soon as any of them have to fight usyk they are fked

Grigory Drozd (WBC Cruiserweight champion-in-recess) questions the WBC's thinking as well...http://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/1081743...

he's got a point as well.....bellew opted for the big money fight with haye, and hurt his hand in the process but if drozd was the champion in recess after HIS injury why the fk wasn't he in contention on saturday night,LET ALONE REINSTATED??...briedis was bellew's mandatory, but then how did that situation come about unless drozd was upgraded from champion in recess to full champion?...so breidis and huck should have have been fighting for the right to have a go at drozd......but then where would that have left the winner of bellew and makabu????..............................AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHhttp://www.boxingscene.com/drozd-scratches-head-to...

Mikkell Kessler has announced he is returning to boxing..at the age of 38.
....and already sounding a bit punchy in his speech...Kessler had a lot of pro fights but as I recall (apart from the Super Six and the Calzaghe bouts) they were mostly walk throughs in front of a few drunk vikings in Aarhus. I never rated him that highly as a boxer, he was tough as old boots though and I doubt this comeback will yield much other than a few quid for what ever he needs it for.

tusc, can you provide a bit more explanation re. the above pics please?
What is it he is doing / you can see that provides a bit of an insight into his potential approach?
Cheers
Jab, Cross, left hook - isn't that all he ever does... He does it quite well though to be fair. What is it he is doing / you can see that provides a bit of an insight into his potential approach?
Cheers
To save tusc the job of typing a response, answers as follows:
Photo 1 shows Wlad embarrassing himself trying to imitate Floyd Mayweather and adopt the Philly Cross guard...clearly believes the purpose of the left glove is to protect the right glove rather than his torso.
Photo 2 shows Wlad missing with the left hook by best part of a foot. From a so-called master at judging distance, this is deeply troubling.
Ain't that so, amigo?!

joshua has a lazy right cross....watch what he does..he throws it then either lets it hang low or out a bit...he also has a habit of drawing it back really high in a bit of a peacock display....time that high pull back or droopy set place of the right and you are asking to be hit with the left hook.....
now watch how wladimir punished pulev for leaving the same spaces....his left hook (for a heavyweight) is one of the best i've seen in the entire history of the division./// get sloppy, get to sleep....
the vids of wlad in prep for this fight show he is working on that distance closing leap-in left hook...
wlad has seen first hand how aj moves and where his weak spots are....

I have seen Joshua do that on a number of occasions but to be fair only when he either knows he has hit the other guy hard enough to discombobulate or he knows there is nothing likely coming back the other way.joshua has a lazy right cross....watch what he does..he throws it then either lets it hang low or out a bit...he also has a habit of drawing it back really high in a bit of a peacock display....time that high pull back or droopy set place of the right and you are asking to be hit with the left hook.....

I certainly feel there will be moments in the fight when Klitschko will connect with that hook though and it will be interesting to see what happens. Worryingly for Joshua is that Klitschko's condition looks very, very good in those pics.
