We won't see Tyson Fury again, I suspect. I sincerely hope he overcomes his personal problems, but I don't think he will recover to return to the ring.

Fury won't fight against. He wants to preserve the aura. I genuinely believe he would have lost the rematch against a Wlad who was focused, not distracted......at least now he can hang onto his achievement...which was formidable on paper...

I do think joshua will be the next dominant champ....once he polishes his footwork and tightens up....he may well stop klitschko...let's be honest, at that age it's a very rare beast who can do what wlad is trying to against a young hungry champion...but I just feel wlad has got one big one left in him

Lots of hype around Daniel Dubois on BT Sport. They seemed to heavily imply that he knocked down Anthony Joshua in sparring recently. The boy looks the part but it is difficult to tell anything else with the quality of the opposition tonight.

Looking forward to seeing more of him in the months to come.

Nasty looking eye injury. Sure there'll be a re-match...

Yeah no doubt. He was ahead on the judges card. Shame it had to be me like that.

Tough match for both guys, personally I thought Williams was ahead by a mile, all the more pointless given Smith didn't meet the weight. Tough for the ref as well, had the 10th round started and he'd stopped the fight Williams would have won, surely he could have given Williams corner a nod to such?

One other thing... I love Nicola Adams. I mean like I really love her and she is so good for the sport, just got both my daughters and me fired up to do an morning session on the skipping ropes and heavy bag. She's top of my fantasy "women I'd leave the missus for" (and its a long list!)

Dont know if anyone else saw it, but I can't believe the referee didn't step in during usyk/hunter. hunter was out on his feet several times, the only things keeping him up were the constant barage of shots and the ropes.

I certainly thought he could have given him more counts that just the one he did, as it was clear on several occasions that it was only the ropes that had stopped him touching down. However, each time I felt the ref was about to step in, Hunter seemed to fire back with something...and something that looked a little more measured than just a despairing flail as well, which made it harder for the ref to wave it off. Also, not that it should really have a bearing on a ref's decision to step in but, facially at least, Hunter seemed surprisingly unmarked at the conclusion of the contest, certainly relative to the amount of shots he was taking towards the end...

Regarding the other fight, as I think I've said on here before, Lomachenko is living proof that the Soviets successfully managed to cross-breed humans and houseflies...there is no other explanation for how that guy moves!!!

You have to respect every person that gets in the ring and he did at least throw a few hooks but that was funny!

Imagine starting your promising professional career against a one fight bum. Horrible management of a fighter.

Agree with that...but must admit, watching that fight put me in mind of this (from about 2m30 onwards):

it would have looked slightly better even if he was rubbish but had a better physique. Made the spectacle look even worse given the condition the guy was in.

I see your point, but I can't say I agree really.

Would you respect him if the result of him getting in the ring was brain damage? He had no business being there, against that opponent at least.

It was a total farce, Daniel learned nothing, his opponent achieves nothing worthwhile, the audience was not entertained as it was over in 20 seconds. It's hard to put into words what a mismatch it was. I remember the commentator saying his opponent took the fight at 8 days notice- like it would have made a difference if it was 80 days. Those wild hapless swings (or hooks) would have bounced of Daniel Dubois even if they had landed.

In a way he deserves more respect for taking it seriously and keeping a straight face when his opponent walked into the ring. Not his fault of course, he has no say in who he fights as a 19 year old making his debut.

I'm looking forward to seeing him fight again, I think he's a real prospect and someone to watch in 2017 and well beyond. It's great to see another potential champion from this country we have a lot of talented young fighters. I think Anthony Yarde is fighting again soon too...

unfortunately frank warren has a habit of taking too long growing his fighters...he's not as brave as eddie hearn, certainly.....as much as i was a massive fan of ricky hatton and joe calzaghe they had some painful stages of their careers where they were fighting underwhelming opponents fight after fight.

I agree with everything you are saying, my point was rather than pointing and laughing at the mismatch in physiques/skill/outcome that he did have the guts to get in the ring but was it good matchmaking, no it definitely wasn't, neither learned anything and could have been dangerous. That said it didn't appear there was any long lasting damage other than to his pride and therefore did make chuckle.
