He always has been...Klitschko too. Don't tell me you didn't know that!

It's just everyone in boxing knows heavyweights contests are a bigger attraction so they 'presented' themselves accordingly. No mystery behind that; you can acquire their 'physiques' quite easily from eBay...

In fact, when Eddie Heard saw the PPV numbers, he said it was the best £31.90 he'd ever spent...!

whyte parker makes more sense for matchroom if it was a choice between bellew and whyte for Eddie re who got parker. Whyte if he wins will have a few fights then mega rematch with joshua where as bellew has already said that he has one or 2 fights left in him.

This stuff really annoys me, no wonder people get turned off to boxing, and it always seems to be the heavyweights. If Hughie Fury's injury was genuine he's surely entitled to have another shot?

Ha ha. Nice to see.

Billy doesn't look in great shape, I hope he gets on it now and spends the next 6 weeks really putting the effort in because this guy is a properly dangerous puncher and Billy won't have long periods in this fight to rest on his skills.

Saw Frank Warren making that very point a couple of days ago...I guess it will depend on whether fighting that late substitute means Parker has now fulfilled his mandatory obligation and is free to arrange a voluntary.

Does anyone have any idea how Matchroom have got Smith a World title shot?!? Lost to every world level opponents he's faced, last 3 fights all wins against journeymen in 6 rounders!

Well, come a week on Saturday, Tyrone Zeuge will no longer be the WBA Super-Middleweight world champion; he'll be the WBA Super-Middleweight 'regular' world champion with either George Groves or Fedor Chudinov holding the higher-ranking WBA Super-Middleweight 'super' world title (don't ask...!). So Smith will only be fighting for 'a version' of the title, not the main thing.

I think the plan is that the holders of the 'super' and 'regular' titles will then fight in a WBA unification match. So presumably Zeuge wants to stay busy in the meantime, and Smith represents a relatively low-risk fight but still has a modicum of credibility in Germany, having taken Arthur Abraham the distance twice for the WBO belt (including running him close first time out).

Paul Smith!?! I thought he's gone into retirement, hopefully he'll earn enough on this fight to get a new suit, that waist coat thing he wears on the telly is shocking.

As far as I'm aware, Super Champion means you can avoid mandatory fights so I'm not sure they can force a super vs regular fight (or 18 months mandatory wait time). In the mean time, they'll make up belts and let anyone fight anyone for a "world" title as long as you pay sanctioning fees. Great times for boxing wobble

Ignoring the change of Zeuge opponent, the WBA's plan as reported:

<cough> mayweather v oirish con' </cough>

dare to dream..

I don't care that it's a complete mismatch, Mayweather belongs in a ring for all to see....

McGregor will be unpredictable, and a bit when i've played badminton against muppets at club level, they get points from you because they do random stuff you wouldn't contemplate in a million years, Conor could well throw some bizarre punch from nowhere, it's is boxing after all.

Money on Money though (if it happens) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS0ZZfUn6NE

Well if the news today is to be believed, Connor, Dana and the UFC are all in and Connor has signed... So it's on Mayweather, and I suspect he will... So "It's Time"

Obviously Mayweather has to be a firm favourite but I agree not only is Connor much bigger and stylistically unorthodox he's also not been out of the game for 2 years and one would assume he's the one with a point to prove.

all of that makes sense but surely you can only give him a punchers chance 10% maybe. I wouldn't fancy Connors chances against a British or European level fighter.

I also wouldn't give Mayweather any hope if it was in the octagon.

Don't underestimate the crowd of fans Connor will bring also, they will be there and loud and even in Vegas will dwarf the Mayweather support.
