and yes, GGG did duck Ward. He isssued an open challenge to anyone up to 168. When Ward answered, his team started to make up lies as if Ward didn't want the fight. Eventually, GGG went on record to say that Ward wasn't his primary focus. AKA he ducked him.
As I recall,it was Ward who called out GGG after the GGG team had signed for Lemeiux ...so Ward knew he would not be able to take Ward's offer...hardly a duck? You seem to be obsessed with GGG, he is a Good fighter, not the best but he is up there, that cannot e denied.

As far as BJS his best fight to give him credibility would be IMO to fight Lemeiux instead on Monroe...& beat him convincingly , better than GGG, big ask !

You're entitled to your opinion. I did say, historically, the Middleweight division is more significant, but that still doesn't change the fact that Super Middleweight is a higher division.

And please don't compare a straw weight champion to a heavyweight champion. It's ridiculous. The Heavyweight Championship of the World has always been the pinnacle of the sport.

I'm well aware of GGG's amateur record. At the end of the day, beating up 350 jabronis is good going, but they were jabronis. A who's who of who the eff is that guy. Danny Jacobs took his soul.
It doesn't work like that!! Some divisions are more competitive than others. Until quite recently the heavyweight division was hardly anything special, with the two Klitschkos dominating. When people talk about the greatest all time boxers, the list will not be full of heavyweights (Ali, Tyson, Lewis, Marciano etc). The reason for that is that people can appreciate the skill, records and level of competition faced (i.e. Sugar Ray Leonard, Mayweather, Duran, Hearn, De La Hoya etc).

That leads me on to your second point above. This is why we have the pound for pound lists, which can be subjective. Yes, the heavyweight champion would win a fight against the straw weight champion (would probably kill him to be fair), but that's exactly why we have the divisions. The straw weight guy might be the better boxer though...

To dismiss GGG's record is a joke. He has not just beaten everyone put in front of him, he has destroyed most of them. He looked deflated after Jacobs because he couldn't knock him out.

well, ...funny you should mention me in training. had a couple novices in the gym today for a bit of sparring....biggrin

it was quite funny....i walked in the gym and i'd arranged to get a few rounds in with me pal...i didn't see tony stood behind me but me mate was saying he couldn't spar today but not to worry...he'd brought his mate along to fill in for him and give me a few rounds..when he pointed over my shoulder and i turned around to see tony i must have had that momentary involuntary pause because i was the butt of the jokelaugh

talking to bellew about what's coming up and i totally get why he hasn't gone in for the tournament.....it looks like the andre ward fight is favourite at the minute....and they're talking about goodison again.....that's a massive pay day right there versus relatively peanuts to get in with the guys in the tournament....and you get to say you've fought arguablyt the #1 p4p fighter in the world!

FFS tusc, isn't that just sodding typical of you? Honestly, who gives a rat's arse if Bellew is lining up a showdown with Andre Ward or if Price is considering giving it one last crack?! There's only one thing any of us on here wanted to know and only one thing you should have been asking...which is more prestigious; Middleweight or Super-Middleweight?!?!

Oh and what the pcensoreding hell is a Jabroni when he's at home???

Slightly surprised by this. Have seen a few quotes from him in the last couple of days re-stoking things with Haye. Had suspected something was happening in that direction; maybe not...

I wouldn't be surprised if he's seeing which would make the most financial sense. I know he's 1 or 2 fights away from calling it quits anyway.

Nice shots by the way, Tusc! I always feel sorry for Price in an odd sort of way. Poor sod is a monster by all accounts in sparring but is just so nervous on the big stage and his nerves burn all his energy up.

Not quite the same I know but Harrison always looked a force to be reckoned with when sparring but it just didn't translate well when it mattered.

i think that's it pal.....2 more and out and a very rich man!

plenty of spar stories about pricey being an absolute demon in the gym.....i can't think who said it now but there's a couple of guys have said hands down he's the biggest puncher they sparred with...and that was with comparison to wladimir and aj!!......it certainly sounds like someone hitting a pig with a baseball bat when he hits the bag....

i wonder where he would be now had he not lost twice to cheating scumbags because the pricey from before thompson and tepur was a formidable force

So you didn't ask him if his last fight was a setup and how he felt fighting a cripple? hehe Yup, no need to take the Haye fight in near future, he can do that at anytime later, will make more money if Haye gets a few wins under his belt too.

People always seem to forget this! I never thought Price could be quite world level, but could have been an excellent gatekeeper like Chisora.
