I think I will go by the scorecards of the experts above, Mannerman.
Fixed that for you. Lots of people seem to be making that mistake wink
Indeed they do...all started by tuscaneer I note; though you do have to bear in mind with him, as a southpaw, he may well have taken one too many 'rights down the pipe' by now.

If I may ask a question; I see you scored the fight quite heavily in Canelo's favour...would you go as far as to say that Canelo had...oh I don't know...taken Golovkin's soul, by any chance?!
I'd forgotten that!

rofl
...and if he did, at what point did Daniel Jacobs return it?
ha!!!....this is fking brilliant laughrofl
I don't know why, since I don't understand this bizarre in-joke, but this is proving to be mildly hilarious. I take it that this is some kind of peculiar initiation ritual you guys pull off on new members of the forum?

But yeah...haha! Good one...can we move on now?!

Frequent poster on boxing thread gets banned from boxing thread.

Poster so upset he even starts other topics on the site haranguing the mods and site operators into having him back and tries to point out the error of their ways.

No-one cares. He stays banned. He looks foolish.

A new poster joins with similar name and very similar posting style.

New poster posts 17 out of 19 total posts so far in boxing thread supporting the same fighters and slating the same fighters as the banned poster.

He still looks foolish.

certainly, let's move on.....by the way you sidestepped all the valid points i made about the fight and went straight back to comparing it to mayweather/de la hoya...which it has no parallels with ......

bottom line your boy got beat handily and escaped with a draw...and it's not like it's the first time he's been the subject of scrutiny over crazy scorecards in his favour now is it??

There isn't much point arguing it without a slow motion round by round analysis, which neither of us have to hand. From what I saw GGG landed very little - fewer than Canelo despite what compubox says. I don't give rounds when all they're hitting is gloves and air.

No, fair enough; all this soul-taking business is just some schoolboy nonsense best ignored...

...though since the Canelo fight, have any of us on here actually seen Golovkin's reflection in a mirror???

Makes you think, doesn't it...? scratchchin

well, it's you, canelo's ma , fishnets and bhop versus the rest of the boxing community , compubox and just about most other sportsmen/women from most other sports...

you don't win rounds even if you get a few off for 30 seconds then get hit and pushed round the ring for the other 2min 30 of those rounds....it's not complicated really.

Hatman accepts the decision of a draw, too. And he's one of the more knowledgeable people in the UK boxing community. Far more knowledgeable than say....Joe Rogan, who has thought the following things:

McGregor would beat Mayweather
Ronda Rousey is a once in human history human being
Ronda Rousey would beat Mayweather in a boxing match
Jon Jones only failed drug tests because of d1k pills.

Ok mate. Nice to see you've got knowledgeable and reliable sources.

as i stated earlier (pay attention and actually read ) i copied and pasted a list from another forum . i didn't hold up joe rogan as some paragon of virtue or boxing afficionado. ....someone with the i.q. of a peanut can see that golovkin won that fight, quite handily too.

your "argument" , if it can be called that, and quite obvious bias has no grounding whatsoever .. sorry pal but it's clear to me that you are determined to argue a daft case in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary....

you, sir, don't know st about boxing.

As I said before, Golovkin landed very little clean. A bit like De la Hoya not landing on Mayweather. The difference being the gap was much closer with Canelo and GGG, as in GGG wasn't throwing as much as De la Hoya and Canelo wasn't as slick as Mayweather - but it was the same sort of fight.
golovkin outlanded canelo 10 rounds out of 12. end of conversation. for a more expanded version of what i've just written see my other post
But, surprisingly for ggg, the majority of his punches were nothing of note.

In this fight, a flashy 20 second burst from canelo, landing some nice shots, was enough to win the round.
As the rest of the round tended to be ggg pressurising to no great affect, so the 20 second burst was the only point of note.

Maybe such a big defining fight has come very late in ggg's career.
Or maybe Canelo is very very good defensively.

Just a shame about the Byrd score.
Cheapened an otherwise intriging fight.

thing is though mate, a scoring shot is a scoring shot.....sure , we are used to seeing opponents prostrate on the canvas against him but that doesn't mean he should be punished for "only " landing more shots than his opponent...
