I've never understood the hate for Junior - always liked his attitude and work ethic and I think he's peaking at the right time . . . totally fancy him doing a number on GG
After tonight I think Eubank will walk straight through Groves. Jnr can take a shot and I’m more convinced than ever that he has the shots and speed to take Groves out. I’m so confident that I’m tempted to break the habit of a lifetime and actually have a bet on it.It'll be a very interesting bout for sure. I think, to be fair, groves has lost a bit of his mental edge after the froch defeats and what happened with Gutneckht, hr doesn't seem o be the same guy, maybe that's a good think because supreme self confidence is a double edged sword.
I think they're both weak to strong traditional 1,2 boxing and will both takes shots down the pipe, which is why i still think Smith is the tournament favourite.

Just watched the Groves fight again. Is it me or does George look like he’s drained/dead at the weight?
Don’t get me wrong, it was a good finish but he looked to me like he should be thinking about moving up a weight now.
Controversial comment I know given how some posters have nailed their colours to him but he just looked “weaker” than in any of his other recent fights I’ve watched.

great weekend of action!....
i thought austin trout was desperately unlucky to run out of steam at the end gainst hurd...he was winning well up until he faded and was stopped in is corner. always like trout.
jermell charlo raised a few eyebrows wiping out touted erickson lubin in just one round!...these charlo boys are starting to make some noise now. both very talented operators.
lara put on a masterclass of skills again with a wide ud against gausha.
pretty much as expected santa cruz beat avalos and mares beat gutierrez(who showed a lot of heart) to set up that big rematch....very surprised to see a half empty arena though!..
groves foot placement was excellent and the stoppage was fantastic.cox had a decent second round by swarming groves who adjusted and closed the show in style but i think that groves mentally didn't expect too much against cox and was a bit ....distant, mentally .
groves in spurts seems to be able to shut anyone down but my worry was the connect rate when cox went hell for leather..he WAS getting through (as how marked up groves is is a testament to)...i couldn't help feeling that if it was eubank and his all action swarming was in front of george then the saint would have had far more to worry about,.
it seems the boxing world has shifted somewhat on groves/eubank and it's true that in every fight chris seems to be getting better whereas george seems to have regressed somewhat...although against chudinov it didn't seem to be too much of a problem which leads me to think if george is "up for it" we may see a different animal...i was very shocked when they stod nose to nose in the ring that jr looks every bit as big as groves!!
i can see that fight playing out 2 ways.....either george turns up fit and switched on and sharp shoots his way to a decision with plenty of body attack to slow him down or chris and his fitness and volume workrate overwhelms groves and stops him late.....honestly, having previously thought groves comfortably, i see this as a genuine 50/50 at the moment. the bookies have certainly changed their tune!..

Disgusting! Pissed up coke head pricks ruining the event for everyone else!http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-41...
I noticed how little size difference (if any) there was between Jnr and The Saint when he got in the ring. Didn't note Jnr's footwear but I'm backing him (even more) after the last couple of weekends.
I've said on the thread since pre-tourny that Jnr is my pick and the dark horse - I think this has happened at the right time in his career as he's matured, got better etc.
Will be trying my best to get tickets for the showdown. Wonder when the venue will be finalized and they'll go on sale?
