Recently started training with weights on advice as I'm am old codger of 43 now....so I'm still getting leaner but a bit bigger round the chest/back and legs as I'm trying to integrate 5x5 stronglifts with the boxing...currently 13 stone 10lb but in reality i reckon I should be nearer 13 stone dead.....feel like I'm retaining my speed but definitely getting physically stronger with the frequent squats and so on...

The sparring is the best bit for me...trying to second guess and time the other guy...always something to learn!

.......so, i assume gassiev wins next week against dorticos then the big one ...usyk v gassiev in the final. has gassiev got the power to stop usyk in his tracks?.. i don't think so. i see briedis as having similar power to gassiev and usyk never really looked hurt....

british beef card next week as well...i'm going with the underdog in chamberlain....i think okolie looks ragged a lot of the time and chamberlain is a tight boxer...chamberlain ud i reckon

Looking at his record, I think Phil is scheduled or a loss hehe

BUT, I think Khan will be having none of it, and might get himself knocked out hehe

yeah, they've been the whispers for the last week or so round the gym...lo greco has chit chatted his way into the fight on social media..

not a great fight tbh....the 2 times he stepped up against spence and porter he got beat..think he's coming off another loss as well.

i suppose for a come back fight it will do.....eddie is gonna have to stack the undercard with a big bag of scousers to sell this one out in the echo...

I'll be the first to admit, Have never heard of this guy and just looked at his record. Meh. But it's a soft comeback for Khan, should be a straightforward win. I think it will be interesting to see the gate numbers though. As you said Tusc, would have to be a solid undercard to get the crowd in. I don't think he's a draw any more. I saw him at Sheffield a couple of years ago, was large swathes of seats empty,

Be interesting to see if he goes to Oakland to train under Brady for this one though, will see how serious he is about his comeback

Bellew interview on BBC site- he is quitting heavyweight after the Haye fight.

His plan was to beat Haye and challenge Parker who he saw as beatable, but things have moved on and he doesn't want anything to do with AJ or Wilder as they are too big for him.

Bellew is instead going back to Cruiserweight.

Either of those two would eat him alive...

Some good fights coming this year though!

Perhaps "good" is the wrong word... Interesting fights in some cases (e.g. Bellew Vs. Haye 2).

Khan and Lo Greco get a bit shirty....

"The pair traded insults in the early stages, but it reached a climax when the Canadian made comments about Khan's wife and family, with the former world champion throwing a glass of water over the 'Italian Sensation'.

Each of the fighters' entourages had to be separated by the security team as tempers frayed, with undercard fighters Sean Dodd and Tommy Coyle - dressed as Batman and Superman - attempting to separate both parties."

In bold- WTF!!

It was ridiculous and a desperate attempt to sell tickets.

I did laugh when Khan made a comment about Lo Grecos weight and he pointed to his chin and said 'Yeah, double chin' then pointed at Khan and said 'Glass chin'........ made me chuckle.

Batman and Superman were indeed there, taking a leaf out of Fury's book wink

Didn't realise that Greco took on the Spence fight at only 48 hours notice.

In view of that, seeing as Porter failed to knock Greco out, I would imagine the fight will go the distance.

Likeable fella , until it got to his wife, but that was necessary to sell the tickets.

got to take your hat off to him if it happens though.....

before the haye fight everyone thought he was mental for going up. i remember watching the goodison show live when he suddenly blurted out all that stuff about the bh from bermondsey...i couldn't believe it at the time that he was taking such a mad leap

I hear you... But I still think a fit Haye would have beaten him and what we see playing out now would have been very different...

I'm not a Bellew hater and he's making the money for his future/ family but he had some very, very good luck in that Haye fight IMHO, which has paved the way for some big fight chat.

I'd have liked to have seen Haye do 'more' after his brilliant career at Cruiser but he does seem brittle, for want of a better word. If he's fit for the second fight and beats Bellew, I am still not sure I want him to fight on as it just doesn't seem good for his body and he must have a few quid and a few good fighters in his stable making him some money.

totally agree mate, i couldn't see how tony was going to win the first fight although the spar stories about him and pricey going down to spar haye years ago and giving him hell were well documented at the time and that was the bit that made the first fight interesting for me. i have no doubt, however , that haye was carrying that achillies injury going into the fight which is why he rolled the dice on trying to get bellew out of there early....but he couldn't knock him out in the first 3 which is the part of that fight that makes the rematch so interesting for me.

usyk AND briedis beat everyone else for my money and aside from the joshua size of heavyweight i can see them causing mayhem up at heavyweight as well.
