Speaking of Ogogo, love this photo Amir Khan has been posting on social media:
It's funny - Khan has been a pro so long it's easy to forget he's part of that generation!
st! you think of campbell as a total new boy and khan as the been-there seen-it knarly old pro!!It's funny - Khan has been a pro so long it's easy to forget he's part of that generation!
apparently roy jones missed his flight to the uk on saturday instead choosing to follow up a cruiserweight shot against the guy who just beat huck ......i know i was wrestling with going or not but a pal of mine who is old chums with tony moran had given me tony's mobile number ....he was up for doing a bit of sponsorship with my company logo on his shorts...full job with a meet and greet with roy and all the trimmings.....i was all up for it until i saw that roy was a no show!
Another great win for Jamie McDonnell last night. Kameda was being touted as the future of the division, so to go to his (adopted) back yard and successfully defend his WBA title not once, but twice, is an absolutely outstanding achievement! I thought he boxed very sensibly behind his jab, making maximum usage of his height and reach advantage.
As one of the commentators pointed out, McDonnell was stripped of the IBF belt because of promotional wrangling and Kameda was forced to vacate his world title when the WBO refused to sanction the unification with McDonnell; so you can argue McDonnell could actually be holding 3 belts now!

i've gone from being a bit "meh" about mcdonell early on to being a great admirer of his dogged determination. he's turned into a very hard AND skillful operator now
