Povetkin was like "what the fk was that?!"
The left body shot definitely hurt, and opened the right straight through the front door.. Lights out.

Definitely pretty worried early on though.

It was a bit like watching a Wilder fight! Great performance by both guys.

On a different note, what a great time to be a fight fan. We had Woodley vs Till, Amir Khan, GGG vs Canelo, AJ vs Povetkin, next week we have Groves vs Smith, Eubank Jr and after that it's Khabib vs Conor!

Getting knocked down by Klitch got him through the first two rounds.

Best and hardest dig of the night was by Anna Woolhouse on Dillian Whyte there.

Dillian - "What am I doing here, why did you call me over here, I should have been ringside etc etc'

Anna - "Because you're working for us tonight"

I've warmed to her.

So is the consensus that Wilder now has just a puncher's chance? laugh

Missus watched the fight - enjoyed it, but I then showed her Wilders knock outs.

Lol - 'Animal', 'Beast', Mental', etc... were the comments.

Unless AJ really out-boxes him, which he should, it could turn into a massive punch festival.

Ha! I could actually imagine Wilder windmilling into the start of the first round.

He must have some seriously strong forearms/wrists though.

I don't want to pay to watch these live, but wouldn't mind flicking through the fights after the fact.

Will they get put on the BT Sport app afterwards, or have I watched my last boxing matches?

Fair play to AJ but just can’t seem to like him. The standard in the heavyweight division is shocking at the moment. Hope the Gypsy King or Wilder can step up the standard.

Technically AJ is not good but gets away with it due to his size and power.

And that Hearn can do one as well, smug prick.
Agree with some of this, especially the last sentence, but for me it is the other way around, I warm to AJ as he is not too much of a big gob, similar to Lennox Lewis, and seems to have his feet on the ground.

Unlike Tyson Fury who is a bit of a wasted opportunity and has too many personal flaws. His joke that AJ could not box eggs is old but still funny... smile

His fight against Wilder will be fascinating to watch. I'm favouring Wilder. Hopefully free earplugs will be handed out to all for the week before the fight and social media ban them both to save our sanity.

Just watched the highlights from the AJ fight and you don't last long when you get hit so hard so many times. I think AJ is a cut above the rest at the moment.

I think the build up to Wilder Fury will be a bit of a love fest.

Lots of mutual admiration and the odd witty comment from fury.

That fight will be cagey with fury looking to do his impression of boxing as he did against klitscko.
Wilder periodically unleashing windmills.
If fury can cover up and smoother he'll take it on points.

If wilder meets AJ I think wilder will want to windmill earlier in the fight. Catching AJ cold.

AJ will do exactly as he did in this fight. Try and weather early pressure knowing if he lands wilder won't recover.
But AJ does give the impression he's conscious of taking a big shot and wilder does like to throw the kitchen sink if he thinks a finish is on the cards.
Still think AJ takes it as wilder will probably realise AJ carrys a lot of power even early on.

Against Parker he certainly did, but against povetkin he appeared to have new found confidence, or had a point to prove to his critics (ticket sales were slow, by his standards).

The short right before those 3 that knocked him down was the major punch for me. Came out of nowhere, carried massive power and setup the finish.

I'm only an armchair fan, and there are many on this thread who can correct me, but that was a great shot and technically very hard I believe.
