Back out in the Zoom Fly 3's today. Nice 12km run at a steady 4.36 pace
THE BEST RUNNING SHOE I'VE EVER WORN!! - End of
OK, the Next % i have are the go to racing shoe but for a daily - I love these shoes!!!
Everyone has different feet and running styles but these are SO comfortable, so snug and have kept me injury free over the last year.
Back to back with the ASICS Novablast's - they felt like i was running in moon boots :-)
A ballerina's pump but springy and cushioned is the best way i can describe ZF3'[s. I'm eagerly awaiting my Pegasus 37's to see how these are going to fit into a rotational shoe as at £140 a pair and really poor availability - the ZF3 isn't practical when running 60 to 80km per week
Hope the AlphaFly Tempo's are just as good

Interesting to hear if you can achieve a good lockdown in the Peg 37s. Seem to be criticised for that, and also that they don’t feel great at slower paces. Given you’re dailying a shoe with “Racing” printed on the insole, I think you might struggle.
Yep, had this discussion with the Wife today as she only runs in ZF3's as well. We're both running 10 to 15km per day as an average and maybe we've spoilt ourselves?ajap1979 said:
Out for a little recovery run tonight cruising at 7.45 /mi and I recorded a VO2 Max best of 60. It’s been sat at 59 for as long as I can remember so I’m chuffed.
Well done. I'm stuck at 58 at the moment and this moves between 56 & 58 and can't see what i need to do to improve it.I've joined my local Running / Athletics club and have my 1st training session with them next week so hope this might be the catalyst to help achieve some running goals - namely
Sub 20 min 5km
Sub 40 min 10km
Sub 1:30 Half
If i can crack the following in 2020,, at 50 years old, i'll be well chuffed

Multiple missed "Whereabouts" and then fraudulent explanations for missing them.
I see this as a guy at the end of his career, getting slower, sponsored by a brand that is being left far behind their major rival in the equipment stakes. And making the wrong choice to try and get back to the top.
Not the first, wont be the last.

Bear in mind that he hasn't been caught with drugs in his possession or in his body, and he hasn't been linked to anyone supplying drugs either. All we have currently is someone with bad timekeeping who tries to cover up his scattiness. He may have taken drugs or he may not have done - we just don't know at this stage. Innocent until proven guilty is what I say.https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/jul/03/wils...

4 year ban suggests he's already been proven guilty. He's managed to keep on top of the whereabouts system for his career. And now at the end, when he's getting slower. He messes it up?
Not buying it! He was imo in the "glow" period. He was probably lying on the floor of his home until the testers went away. If you miss 1 test, you make DAMN sure you don't miss another!
Or you do what Lizzie Armistead did prior to Rio 2016 and try and get your third missed test overturned on a technicality for some un-named/unproven "personal issue". She can fk off too!

Very good targets and the sub 40 min 10k of those is hardest. You’ll likely need to be able to run a 6min mile (18:39) 5k in my experience to do that, whereas the 1:30 is 6:52 per mile and in my opinion a bit easierI've joined my local Running / Athletics club and have my 1st training session with them next week so hope this might be the catalyst to help achieve some running goals - namely

At your age, you’ll be well up there In terms of the category and in many races in terms of the higher positions

Ran a 28km this afternoon. Nice & steady average pace of 4.43. Last 4km was at a 4.30 pace so i'm feeling positive that i can crack a sub 3 hour marathon with a bit of focus. At your age, you’ll be well up there In terms of the category and in many races in terms of the higher positions
I think you're right though - a sub 40 10km will be a big ask. The fastest i've ever managed this so far is just under 42 mins and that took everything out of me. Maybe with a bit of coaching and a bit of time
Mind, the 28km today is off the back of 114km this week (2nd on the PH Strava club this week for the 1st time) and i've run every day for at least 10 to 13km every day for 8 days straight so my legs are very tired.

If it helps at all, last autumn I was circa 42min 10k, with a 20 minute 5k, and right now I reckon I’d be 38-39 minutes, perhaps faster. My quickest 400m, 800m and mile are all identical, so don’t worry about that. The only difference is my mileage; I’ve gradually increased from 40k a week to 80-90km a week. Of course, that’s much easier than improving speed over shorter distances.
