Similar. Heavy rain and 20 miles to get done.
Motivation is not high
I've posted on here to keep me accountable tbh! Going to pick a nice seafront out and back, take a dry top and socks with me if it gets proper gross! Motivation is not high
Yes, well done. I chickened out again and did 16k at the gym - god it was boring! However, it was my last long run ahead of Paris next Sunday. I’ve got two short runs during the week (just to keep my legs turning over) and that’s it ahead of the marathon!
I’m not as fit as when I ran Amsterdam last October but feel good I’ve got through the training block without significant injury, just dome niggles.
Thanks
Rob

been really struggling with motivation for ~ 8 months now, only done a handful of runs in that time, when I used to run regularly, multiple times a week, and had done so more or less continuously for 15 years. Painful foot from aggravated Mortons neuroma has been bothering me, caused my narrow shoes, and I got really pissed off that the shoe company that used to make shoes that actually fit me kept their marketing bumpf about foot-shaped shoes while actually changing their shoes to have stupid shoe shapes. (my feet are size 6.5 length, but are as wide as a size 12 EE width...). Also been struggling with regimented regimes and plans etc. being a bit uninspiring.
HOWEVER, this morning, I decided just go go for it, forget about time/distance/pace walk/run (I have lost a lot of fitness) and 'go and run around around like a dog'. I did it. it was ace. really fun. want to do it again now.
time to go to my bed and sleep now though.

Anyone running Paris marathon?
They're having a meeting on Tuesday to decide whether to postpone due to riots.
Yes, myself and one other on the thread (Inspire?).They're having a meeting on Tuesday to decide whether to postpone due to riots.
Having run in Paris a couple of times this month it's pretty mining with trash piled up everywhere. I guess they're more worried about the potential for disruption if protestors get onto the route. I'll be travelling anyway to see family. It'd be a real shame to be there and not able to run.

1:29:54 in the Fleet HM today and I had to work for it from mile 10 due to a lack of runs longer than 9 miles in the last few months. The 1:30 pacers passed me at mile 12 and I had to dig deep. Pleased overall though as that's only the second time I've managed sub 90.
Well done and hope that you enjoyed the race. Any sub 1;30 time is to be applauded naturals said:

Yes, I’m running it as well. Bit of a disaster if it gets postponed but we are having a holiday in Paris anyway for the week. I’ll need to find a UK marathon to do instead assuming the worst happens!Having run in Paris a couple of times this month it's pretty mining with trash piled up everywhere. I did a bit of research last night. Apparently, locals have been reporting the trash along the route has been cleared more regularly than sidestreets off the route. Also people are saying the protesters generally have Sundays off (this being France and all). Let's stay optimistic!!Thanks

Thanks for the update. Optimism is the way to go! I got my final email from the organisers this morning with the registration QR code so they do seem to be pushing on with the arrangements. Thanks

Yeah, same. The weather for Sunday isn't looking great, but if they cancel it I'll go out for an unofficial lap provided it isn't p***ing it down. See you there?!Thanks
