Can someone please explain how that was even an accidental offside.
He clearly caught the ball ,oh st moment and then dropped it like a hot potato.
Clearly the ref had money on the draw.
I am sure the ref said to the NZ captain - 'we have a deal'He clearly caught the ball ,oh st moment and then dropped it like a hot potato.
Clearly the ref had money on the draw.
I think he was trying to say that we won't look too much into your attempt at the ball and you can have the restart.

Nah still does not explain it,clearly and obviously offside and he knew it too
Will no longer be a Who,me ,Guv, but a Ken Owens shrug
When it comes to offside, on balance over the years the ABs have nothing to complain about. Will no longer be a Who,me ,Guv, but a Ken Owens shrug
However....

Welsh players who shouldn't be going include Biggar, Davies & Halfpenny.

I agree that I wouldn't have Biggar or JD in my squad.

I'm guessing no ones been watching Jonathan Davies lately?
8th July, Jon Davies gets voted Players Man of the Tour Some people are totally clueless. Jon Davies is the best 13 in the NH by a LONG way, has been for 2-3 years. He's also played every minute of the last six tests - but yeah, he only went because he was Welsh

Lot of positives for the England team coming out of this - very good tours for George, Itoje, Sinckler, Lawes and pretty good for T'eo and Daly. Hopefully George will now get to start ahead of Hartley.
Lots of positives but it also highlights to me how England have to find some flankers from somewhere to play alongside Billy V. They have not got anyone fit to lace Cane or Kaino's boots...nor SOB. albundy89 said:
Accidental Ha Ha
He caught it ,realised, what a bloody stupid c--t and very quickly dropped it,
Jesus it worked.
Agreed - 99 times in 100 that is a penalty! He caught it ,realised, what a bloody stupid c--t and very quickly dropped it,
Jesus it worked.
As soon as you make a move towards it with your hands & touch it, its a penalty.
Very happy with the result though!
One penalty though doesnt make the game - Warburton had a legal turnover early on which got given against us. The focus on the caught offside is only due to its timing.

Why can the ball be put into the scrum as bent as anyone wants, yet the lineout throw ( much harder to do) has to be millimetre perfect?
Time for a bit of consistency methinks.
They started to clamp down on this at the start of season about 3 years ago. I recall watching a Top14 game where the ref kept pinging the SH from both teams until they put it in straight, at which point the hookers suddenly had to remember how to hook again Time for a bit of consistency methinks.
Then it all got forgotten again and SHs got back to putting the ball in somewhere near the No8s feet again
Oh, and JD my player of the tour too, just ahead of SOB. Although I still think the latter is a better 6 than 7
Just read this snippet in the Guardian... Would be awesome!
Neither Gatland nor Hansen were too concerned, however, about the lack of extra time, preferring the unlikely, but convenient, idea of the Lions reconvening in the colours of the Barbarians this November for a decider with the All Blacks at Twickenham. “That would be good, wouldn’t it? You’ll have to ask Premier Rugby if they’d release any of the players,” Gatland said.

IIRC his form leading up to the Lions was patchy, that being the case it could be argued he got in due to being Welsh - what he did once he was in.... well the guy has been phenomenal and really tests the theory that you should only pick on form. That being said North's form was also patchy....
Well done JD.
Mate, your talking absolute bks! JD, along with Barclay is the reason the Scarlets won the Pro 12. Liam Williams has signed a £400k contract with Saracens but JD is twice the player LW will ever be. Hopefully JD will now get some recognition from other (non-welsh) people. Remember him on the last tour? He was outstanding then too!!Well done JD.

At the time, Faletau couldnt get in the Wales team so of course he didn't deserve his place Tuvra said:

The pressures going through the scrum nowadays are simply too much to be able to lift the leg fully and old school "hook". Time for a bit of consistency methinks.
World rugby's view is fully removing the foot from the floor and fully hooking can make the scrum unstable and as such they (& refs) have looked the other way on crooked feeds to try to make the scrums be a restart rather than a 50/50 penalty fest .
To address this they trialed in the u20 world cup having the scrum half putting the ball in with their shoulder aligned to the centre of the scrum rather than the ball.
This means the team who "gained" the scrum then has a genuine legal advantage & meant hooking was possible without neccessarily having to remove the foot from the floor for so long.

List of main changes:
Main World Rugby Law Trials (full trials here):
Penalties awarded after time has expired can be kicked to touch and the lineout will be played.
Teams can choose which advantage they want to play if a side infringes on multiple occasions.
Revised points scoring: Six points for a try, two points for a conversion, two points for a penalty.
No conversions after a penalty try, which is automatically worth eight points.
A maul must start to move within five seconds or the ball must be used.
A player who plays the ball while his foot is in touch but before the ball has crossed the plane of the touchline is deemed to have carried the ball into touch.
Scrum changes allowing a scrum-half to stand with his shoulder level with the centre of the scrum, promoting scrum stability.
The introduction of a five-metre line drop-out as an alternative to a five-metre scrum for a defending team.
Edit - here is a link and details of the actual U20 world cup rule changes;
http://www.worldrugby.org/u20/news/252142?lang=en
No signal from referee prior to put-in at scrum
Scrum-half must throw the ball in straight but can align left shoulder with the middle of the tunnel
Allowing the number eight to pick from the feet of the second row
Compulsory striking by the hooker after throw-in to scrum
Tackle only and offside line creation (Tackler, tackled player and at least one player on their feet and over the ball creates the offside line)
A player cannot kick the ball out of the ruck – can only hook it back
Tackler must get up before playing the ball and then can only play from his side of the tackle gate
