Yeah it was an odd selection but I think Gatland wanted either Warburton or AWJ starting.

As a Glos supporter, that is a surprisingly familiar experience, but expected better of Gatland.

Gatland made a huge mistake with those Welsh 3rd stringers he bought in late.
Not bringing them in at all, he was right to do that - he should have gone further and loaded the bench with them this game.
Then, if we were losing he could have sent them all on with "karate kid" instructions (sweep the leg) and try to use them to injur Barrett, Coles etc - thus making the second test winable.

Why do pro clubs make subs of hookers at the silliest times? The first thing Owens gets to do is throw into a line out on the 5 metre line which we lose.

Suspect the difference is that the ABs don't consider them 50:50s - they go in expecting to come out with the ball, and guess what, they do.

Agreed - as soon as you saw him run on you knew it was it was never going to be a success.
