Think I'll be in the market for a new driver soon as well - was at the range over the weekend, merrily hitting balls when I heard a horrible rattle from the end of my driver - the adjustable hosel had come loose. The pro shop at the range tightened it up and it seems OK, but I don't feel 100% confident it isn't going to come loose again, so am going to look around. Due to weddings I'm not going to have a huge budget - probably up to £250, so will be looking at last year's models I think, and am keen to try the M1 430, Vapor Fly Pro and the 915 D3 as I prefer a smaller head. Biggest challenge is going to be finding one of each to try out, the M1 and 915 have been replaced, and Nike have pulled out altogether. All 3 seem freely available on t'internet though.
Also want to try a heavier shaft if possible, hoping it will smooth out my swing on the course.
Have a look at the XR16 driver tooAlso want to try a heavier shaft if possible, hoping it will smooth out my swing on the course.
Played in the latest round of our Scratch Knockout last night against Newcastle last night. Tough tough game, guy I was playing was off 4 and was level gross after 9 - went 3 down after 6 and was ready to hang on and at least make it respectable, ended up shooting a 3 Over 74 myself and winning on the 18th! Couldn't believe it, was easily my best game of the season - couldn;t miss with my Driver either, adjusted it to its Draw setting before the round and my slice was gone completely.
Am going to still have a look round and what's available, but my preferred option at the moment is to save myself £175 and just pick up a 2nd Covert to use as a spare.
Oh yeah and after looking at Drivers all day, I ended up buying a 2 Iron. As you do.

Brooks Koepka has kept his in the bag after Nike pulled out, and have heard many good things about it. Arrives tomorrow - can't wait!

Nobody watching the golf?
Poulter with a great round, but Spieth is really playing well.
Jason Day looks like an absolute tt.
Checking the BBC feed. Chuffed for Poulter...i know he isn't everyone cup of tea but struggled with injury the last couple of years and good to see him back playing some good golf. Poulter with a great round, but Spieth is really playing well.

I like Poulter as well. I suspect he's a good guy sometimes pretending to be a bit of an arse. Rather than a bona fide arse.Am at work so "watching" on the BBC Website, Spieth I would have expected to be up there, less so Koepka - guess he has a lot more to his game than hitting a 3 iron 275 yards!
Poulter I have a lot of time for - a great story, going from selling Mars Bars in his local pro shop to playin gin the Ryder Cup, plus he's great at rubbing people up the wrong way, which I appreciate.
And is Justin Thomas honestly wearing a tie and cardigan? Like seriously?

He looks better than Jason Day who looks like he arrived on a moped from his appointment at the job centre. Night out in Liverpool tomorrow, then at the course on Saturday.

And he's got a decent chance of birdie on the 2nd..... come on son!
I saw his score after his first 9 & thought he was out of it already..perhaps not (only saw he finished +1 this morning!). Although i think the putter might end up letting him down again...mind you, if he can finish at -3 today he'll be in great shape. Looks tough out there today!SpeckledJim said:
My cheeky punt on Paul Waring E/W is not yet dead. But not exactly alive and kicking either.
I suppose he was 401 for a reason.
400/1? Good pick that...I've back Poults at 60/1. Really hope he can win it, what a fairy-tale that would be after all his problems & having to actually qualify at Woburn..I suppose he was 401 for a reason.
