Lovely day for golf today. Round in 96 which is par to my handicap of 25 according to the golfshot app. (i know its not a true handicap)
Duffed 2 driver shot, but the rest I was pretty happy with. Short game is getting better. Putting is absolute ste.... dropped so many shots with just really really dreadful putting. Think I need a new putter to encourage me to practice it.
Golf shot does work out proper UK CONGU hcp. Duffed 2 driver shot, but the rest I was pretty happy with. Short game is getting better. Putting is absolute ste.... dropped so many shots with just really really dreadful putting. Think I need a new putter to encourage me to practice it.
Loving the justification for a new toy
Just back from a weeks golf in Cyprus. 7 rounds completed.
5 @ Elea, 1 @ Secret Valley & a quick blast @ Aphrodite Hills.
A nice end to this years golf. Been a pretty good year, had a decent swing/game all year. Handicap moved from 4.2 to 3.8 (High of 5.2 and low of 3.5)
4 matchplay finals, sadly only won 1.
Lots of open's played with a couple of wins.
Now it time to stick the practice in a look at new gear for next season. New irons are top of the list as mine are 4 years old and showing the 500+ rounds they've completed, then possibly Driver/woods.

Ended up playing the West course at Wentworth today.
Oh my, what a course!
Playing off the whites at a shade under 7000 yards was too much for me really (480 yard par 4?!) but I really enjoyed myself.
Played OK on the front, but tired on the back (had to carry as well which sucked!).
However, saved the best until last with a nice birdie on 18! One for the memory bank!

Does anyone know where I can get this bit from circled in red, Callaway fit? Part of it decided to snap off and ended up rattling around in my driver.
Either that, or any decent pro shop should be able to get one and fit it for you.
I've reshafted a few drivers myself and it's really not difficult.

This, however depending on what part is now inside the driver head getting it out again will be far more difficult
Yeah that might be the problem. Is the screw fully tightened? It's probably going to need cutting off. Once the screw is cut it should be pretty easy to prod the broken part out of the hosel bore.

Only one we played whilst over there was El Camaleon, bit pricey at $249, but definitely worth playing - I have never seen a course in such fantastic condition - the fairways were like snooker tables and the greens were impeccable. Course itself is challenging - not an especially tough layout, but it is near the coast, so there is always a lot of wind to deal with, but as it is mostly cut through jungle, you can never actually tell how much until the ball is in the air.

It did get bloody hot when we played it in May, luckily there are the usual buggies touring the course with "refreshments". Lots of interesting wildlife too, we took about 5 minutes to get onto one of the tees as there was an Iguana sunning itself on the cart path, and all the water hazards appear to have alligators in them...Rental clubs were a choice of Titleist or Ping.
Also if you play it, keep an eye out for the bunker on the 1st - more of a cave than a bunker, and if you go in at the wrong angle, it's an unplayable to get back out again!
Thanks - i think there is some hotel special offer to play El Camaleon at a reduced rate, but at that price I’d only be playing once. I will have my own clubs though.http://www.mayakobagolf.com/camaleon.php

A great reason for buying a new driver surely!!!!
Nooooooooooooooooooooo :-)The bit was rattling around but I got it out. The hozzle still works and doesn’t seem to be effecting the driver but obviously it’s not right. I can’t find the plastic end bit on its own, just the entire hozzel which isn’t what I want really.

You won't find just the tip of that adapter anywhere. They're sold as a whole. You can get one for about a tenner.
You just need to gently heat up the adapter currently on the shaft with a variable heat gun to break down the old glue and pull the adapter off, then glue the new one one with some araldite.

They had the part(s) and knowledge to sort out a trusty but very old Callaway driver of mine.
