Sounds like they are not confident of a not guilty outcome.

FFs this is one of the most obvious and clear rules of the game - he knows this and the risk to him personally is a lifetime ban for ANY involvement in Rugby at any level. (Future career ruined).

Maybe it was a naive bet on Wales winning the RWC or getting to x stage

The harm this will cause is huge the teams preparations and continuity.

I hear Howley was set to be attack coach for Italy following the World Cup - this now looks on hold depending the outcome and likely offer withdrawn.

Italy have had a lucky escape.

Wellies has the Scarlets playing well... Mind you it's too late to bring his own plans to the table now.

What a cluster fk.

Having seen how Wales performed under Howley when he stood in for Gatland on Lions tours, maybe the WRU set him up to impostor their chances? hehe

Never mind betting breaches, it’s the doping that the WRU should be sorting out.

Morning all,

With the squads for round one starting to be announced (Japan and SA so far), just a reminder to get your Fantasy League teams selected!! smile

It's also not to late to join the PH league if you've not already done so and would like to...

or by downloading the Superbru app and searching for the pool with code:

Howley’s plane landed at 12:50 today.
Or as he likes to call it 10 to 1....

Although it’s a rugby wide problem,Welsh rugby has a disproportionately high number of banned athletes at the moment.

article said:
Richard Ings, who was CEO of the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority between 2005 and 2010, said: "Welsh rugby is a red flag in regard to the number of doping offences. Indeed, Welsh rugby is infamous for doping offences."

Does anyone think Howley will be cleared and return to Japan for the remainder of the tournament.

Or he is right up st creek and there is no way out career ruined with a lifetime ban.

For him to go out to Japan and then almost immediately go back home, I think he’s up the creek.

But you’d have to suspend the employee following such a serious allegation. Carry out investigation and outcomes from it.

(I really fear the worst though frown ).

I also have a really bad feeling that Wales will fall out at group stage and somehow it will be blamed on Howley .... which will put him in a hugely dark place.

If he has bet on Wales Winning the World Cup I don’t see an issue. Betting we only get to a certain stage clearly that wouldn’t be ethical.

I think it's safe to say his Wales career is over. No idea whether he's likely to get a lifetime ban though.

His contract ended at the end of 2019 RWC

Pivac is selecting his backroom staff with Wellies already confirmed so he wasn’t part of it.
