A random question, which I don't think I've asked before... Does anyone know how clubs arrange their pre-season fixtures?
Obviously there's a governing body to draw up league and cup fixtures, but does the same happen preseason, or is it a case of Wasps' mum calling Ulster's mum to see if they want to come over and play during the holidays?
If the latter, I can imagine there must be a lot of back and forth calls and one club putting off another whilst they wait to see if their preferred option is available?

yup - looks like either:
he's a very lucky boy
or
the press (as usual) over-egged the reporting
Let's see how things go, the fact that the club captain was there for him and the word is he was really throwing himself into training
I don't buy that. This recent event, and previous events, display a serious lack of judgement.he's a very lucky boy

Listening to BBC R5L last night and they repeatedly said "no harm caused". Pretty sure the PC was harmed, and there's evidence of it. Not I'm happy to accept that wasn't deliberate attack on a PC and more likely from resisting the arrest, but it smacks of getting off lightly.(Scroll down a bit)

Call me old fashioned, but I take a very dim view of young men assaulting women.
But "he wasn't charged with assaulting a police officer" they cry!I don't care if it's male or female officer, there were injuries and compensation paid. Cipriani doesn't seem to account for this in his account of the moment that he resisted arrest...

This. Nothing else needs saying. She's a uniformed police officer. There's no excuse for assaulting a police officer going about their duty, and assuming she's good enough to be doing the job, them that's the only point that's relevant. Her gender isn't.
