Much being made of the slow over rate from the saffers. Still 20 more remaining today.

Still scoreboard looks a lot better than it did at Lunch, Good boost for Root too in his first dig since being made captain.

Roooooooooooooooooooooooot

Poor from us this morning, I suspect that Ballance won't be playing test cricket again after this test.

Fantastic looking card and scored in quick time too. Hopefully see us dash to 450+ tomorrow and have them /5 by the close! Shaping up to be a good day out!

Often the way with big overnight scores. Hard to re start and get the feet moving again.

Shame he didn't crack the double. But still a fantastic innings.

Settle for over 400

Jimmy joins the party laugh

Tail enders smashing it around is always a highlight of test cricket - unless it's the opposition doing it to you!!

Decent day for England . Chipping away the wickets on a decent batting track.

Get out with a 100 run lead well be very handy. Need Broad to have a fiery spell at the tail on the morning.

Hope HR had a good day out !

Awesome day although after lunch it took a bit of a dip. Very entertaining at the end of our innings and the fizz was certainly flowing. Shame we didn't make it to lunch and gutted Joe didn't hit 200, however Broady delivering the cameo that everyone wanted was great!

On the train back now, plenty of wine and munchies smile

What did Rabada say to Stokes to get a one-match ban then?

Anyone fancy going on Monday, assuming that there is likely to be some cricket worth watching?

Stumps on day three.

Steady as she goes, we're 216 ahead with one wicket down.

A good day today. Hopefully we can crack on tomorrow morning and put the game out of South Africa's reach, although as pointed out post stumps on Sky, if England are going to crack on tomorrow we're not really going to make progress with Cook and Ballance at the crease. They would, however, both benefit from a decent innings - I can't say that I'm a fan of Ballance, and I'm a bit surprised to see him back, but if he can justify his place then all's well.

see that stat that said he is faster to 100wkts + 2000 runs than sobers, botham, khan, dev etc. seems to have really slipped under the radar.
