I started watching as a kid in 1986, which was the first year the Tour was shown in the UK, and for many years after that it was exciting and rare for a Brit to even win a stage or mountains jersey. Different times!

First two I remember were Chris Boardman's prologue win in 1994 and Max Sciandri in 1995.

Another boring stage today, hopefully the action hots up over the weekend.

Ever so slightly off topic - an interesting/uplifting article about the former Robert Millar.

Today's non Tour highlight.

2CVs racing along in the field next to the road the Peloton are using.

First hard day in the mountains tomorrow, three HC climbs.

We'll have a very good idea by the end of the day who's in with a chance.

Has been one of the most interesting days racing in a long time. Shame that GT is out.

David Millar is such a bore. He needs to talk the Sean Kelly "less is more" approach.
