Vuelta Espana 2017
Discussion
i have no issues if there all doing it like the good old days. let it be a free for all but just be open about it.
What people don't like is those claiming to be clean when its just being cleverer than the testers currently. Its unspoken but known about the current 'star'. Cookson's leadership is terrible, and doesn't dare do anything.

Following bike racing is much, much more fun if you never read the cycling press.
You could be right, take a lot of what you see with a pinch of salt Whatever happens, it's a great sport nonetheless.
Shame the Vuelta is over as I think that was one of the best grand tours I have seen in ages.
Agree with other posters that Froome wanted that green jersey.

If Froome was so keen on the Green Jersey why did he allow Poels to finish second on Stage 20. It was only when the Green jersey was there to be won on Stage 21 that he definitely targeted the prize.
Obviously it wasn't his main aim, that was the overall win. Once he came in contention to win the green jersey he didn't want to give it up. Carefully measured effort to clinch it at the end of the Vuelta. He's a very savvy rider Froome, that is what makes him so good

Of course he went into the last stage knowing what was needed to win the Jersey and he did what was needed if it had been a priority before then he would have taken the second place from Poels the day before. He's a very savvy rider Froome, that is what makes him so good
Its hardly a point worth debating he was present on all the stages he needed to be and I wonder now if he is looking at how to win the Giro next year.
Can't remember if it was Ned Boulting or Daivd Millar, but one of whom suggested that Frome would want to make it six Tour wins (i.e. most wins) thus Giro is not viable due to the Tour schedule. After the sixth Froome may try to win the Giro to round off his career.
Makes sense to me.

I would prefer to have the three GT's than 5 or 6 TDF's he has 4 and I don't think its beyond him to tackle both and if he isn't going well in the GIro he could always retire.Makes sense to me.
You also don't know who will be about in three years time.
