7/42 - marginal gains !

Fantastic effort. Also good to see Broad hanging in there. apparently there have been 9 drops off his bowling in this series.

Ouch !

Hope we calmly knock these off and Stoneman gets a 50 !

I'll miss Blowers, it's been a fabulous innings from him. I'm still a bit annoyed about Mickey Stuart recovering so quickly in India, preventing him from having a game for England.

Likewise, Blowers will be missed, reporting on buses a speciality. Blowers, Jonners and Aggers was the dream team.

At least both Stoneman and Westley were not out.

I can't decide if Stoneman and Westley getting a few is good or bad ! I guess we wait now for the Ashes squad, but a little unconvincing over the series.

Anyway, wins a win. Good stuff and a few odi's to come.

Scroll down to 15.42 for full footage of Blowers' final stint. Great stuff.

There's also footage on the match report of him in the England dressing room afterwards.

Agree.

Westley still wouldn't be making the Ashes tour for me.

I'm not that convinced by Stoneman either, but probably benefit of the doubt given there.

Not giving Hales a run was daft IMO.

Anderson's bowling has been top rate. And Stokes looks well on form.

We have the makings of a very good side, but the selectors and Root have a job to do on our opening order. Needs some "radical" thinking I reckon.

Lovely analogy on Cricinfo

England continue to treat the number 3 slot as sending a monkey into space. You know its going to die, but it isn't safe to send a real player just yet....

I agree about Hales. Stoneman, Westley and Malan (to a slightly lesser degree) all looked like rabbits in the headlights against the West Indies, so they're cannon fodder against Australia in Australian conditions, whereas Hales has the tools to take them on, and he's in form as well. Hales to open, (maybe) try Stoneman at 3, Westley carrying the drinks.

Fantastic fight back in progress here. Windies looked like they were running away with it half an hour ago.

Great start! 0/1 Roy gone.

On an unrelated note. Can't believe there's a five match ODI series starting next week! They'll be playing until nearly October!

PMSL at Gayle saying he didn't give a st about fielding in this weather, can't say I blame him though!

I'm going to the last ODI, on 29 September.

It's looking a bit parky up at Durham this evening! Can't say I blame Chris Gayle for containing his enthusiasm for fielding.

A good reply so far from England, despite losing Roy first ball.

I once played a game of cricket that was abandoned due to snow. (Dove Holes for anyone that knows it)

It's not that bad, but it's definitely a bit parky up here.

Strange how they are playing so late in the summer even with ODI's.

Was looking at the schedule for the Winter and Summer next year and its chocker with games.

Away in Australia and New Zealand this winter, then home to India and Pakistan. Thats ALOT of cricket being played.
