The only problem with Willow is the partisan convict commentary crew including Kevin FIGJAM Pietersen.

Stoneman out. Good knock though.

Or you can just google BT Sport 1 live stream.

I’ve streamed in the past but it’s generally been pretty crappy and sporadic. Willow is $10 a month through Sling and it’s 1080 HD on my 60in flat screen.
Worst "I've got a 60in flat screen" post ever!

On form that's a decent run from Stoneman and Vince. Hopefully the latter will be kicking himself hard and will be fired up properly for the next innings.

Slow going now. Can't lose another wicket today.

FFS! Literally as I pressed Submit!!!!!!

Ali and Blairstow need to be on top, top form this innings. Definitely a 350-400 wicket. But how good are the Aussie batsmen?

Of the Malan, Bairstow and Ali trio - someone needs to post close to 100 and the others decent numbers too. Over 350 would be fine.

I suspect the Aussies are a better bowling side than batting, but too give ourselves a chance we need to be up there.

Not bad so far for England, we haven't made any big mistakes or looked intimidated.

Following on ESPNcricinfo as I can’t find a stream anywhere that doesn’t have all sorts of dodgy looking pop ups (any hints anyone?)

Anyway - sounds like Smith was told at he beginning of the over it was ok to take the new ball then to be told after 3 balls it’s too dark - end of play!

That’ll annoy him! Excellent!

Overall - a solid start, nothing more nothing less. I think if we’d have had a horror it would have been tour over but with that start I think we can build on it.

It could be the best Ashes series that I can’t watch!

I think it's been a great day for us today considering all the bigging up of the Aussie bowlers.

Keep them in the field for another full day I say.

Moen Ali is going to be the key I reckon in this match.

Phil Tufnell mentioned that he hopes Moeen Ali can concentrate, as did GB. Question is- can he?

I thought England did much better than expected by all the pundits, so far.. the slower wicket helped, but the 2 big hitters kept their heads down and proved they have the ability for Test Cricket.

I just love hearing how the Aussie crowd gets wound up by the mention of anything England.

I always think 200-4 is a par score on an average wicket, so considering nobody fancies England, I think they've done well.

I think we gave that away really... The pitch is a pudding but it's not doing much at all for the seamers.

Poor shot from Root (and Cook), daft run from Vince, Stoneman lost concentration.

Can't believe how much spin Lyon is getting - he bowled really nicely.

Completely agree you want 50 per wicket for the top five as a par.

Aussie's slightly overhyped (at least on the bowling) However for a day one pitch Lyons bowled some real turners. We will need to try and avoid batting last on a worn pitch this series.

Will be interesting to see if The Beard can match that turn when we bowl

I was expecting us to be bowled out in the first few overs according to some of the pundits. Maybe its not going to be such a one sided Ashes.

Just found out that BT Sport are doing free highlights everyday at 7pm:

http://sport.bt.com/cricket/free-ashes-highlights-...

ETA: Well the highlights was 8 minutes long with a fair bit of talking rather than cricket. Not convinced me to pay for BT Sport.

A mate has told me that if you go to the BBC sport website early enough, he mentioned 9am, then the TMS feed is hours long, thats my tomorrow sorted!

Indeed. I have registered my displeasure with the ECB.

I look forward to my message not making it past their email filters.

ETA: just realised I can't multiply 8 by 25 properly. Doh.

It’s a joke - I actually don’t have a problem with the fact that BT Sport outbid Sky for the coverage - that’s business.

But, normally in these deals there is a highlights package made available to other channels - and it enough to make a programme from - I’d be fine with that.

So - anyone know how I can watch the BT Sport channel without subscribing at £30 a month AND paying a £30 connection charge!!
