Wales no strength in depth. Who can play 8 when there’s no faletau and we let a very good player in Luke Hamilton get capped by the Scots it’s gonna be another few years of poor form from wales I think
TBF you do have another good #8 - however he's injured too

That's the problem for Wales, isn't it. One injury and there's a weakness in the side.

One of the criticisms of England last year was that they didn't have a world class player. I'm not sure I agree with that, but Wales must look in envy at them when, after 50 mins, a player they'd have picked for their first team is replaced by a player they'd have picked for their first team.

I'm a big fan of Launchbury, but world class? I don't know. Yet with Lawes, England has a second row that's easily world class, limiting the tactics of any other side.

Same for Scotland and Ireland. Great starting XV but not so great benches.

Fifteen years ago (that long?) Ireland was class of the field. It was a joy to see them play. Some really great memories.

And then they went into decline, partly because, I think, certain team members just had to play and there was no one experienced enough to replace them, so a sort of double whammy. The hope is that it is cyclical and that they'll come again.

In my club there's a wealth of youngsters coming through, although internationals being played behind a paywall isn't going to help recruitment.

Definitely a try. Dire decision.
Which one? Both had very clear law breaking.

The offside at a kick was even one of the IRB's action areas for in their words 'zero tolerance' - If you remember Foley who was level with Hooper, stopped, Hooper kept advancing - PK all day.

Obstruction is pretty clear and = PK

Fantastic to watch underTownsend. Even with Hogg injured in the warm up. The sending off helped but Scotland dominated from the start

That’s two wins against Australia now both Home and away and a narrow loss to the all blacks.

Not sure if serious about the 'dominated from the start.'

It was a real downer for the group I was in to see Hogg limp off. We all thought Scotland would struggle but it shows their strength that a man of his quality was barely missed. Excellent play by the Scots. Even though they were behind at half time the four of us watching had already accepted it was a win for Scotland, although the margin proved a bit of a surprise.

At 17 all I got a phone call and the rule is anyone taking a call has to leave the room. When I came back it was 29 : 17.

The guys said that they'd allow the match to be wound back when there was a lull. Fat chance.

Great to see Scotland back.

Go on Wales! Great running from the backs there!

Shame Halfpenny seems a bit off his kicking game.

This one is set up nicely but I can't help but feel the ABs will come out of the tunnel much stronger!

Halfpenny is tackling like a demon.

Ten minutes in and the ABs haven't improved.

Great match to watch.

It was fun while it lasted. The AB's try at 33 points killed it.

Still, well played Wales against the best team in the world.

I think I annoyed the neighbours and am Horse from watching the match yesterday.

Wales played some fantastic stuff - a great lot of new players. I was expecting a jumping throughout the game. Instead it was a great spectacle one of the most entertaining matches I’ve seen in a while (Well Scotland win v Oz was bloody good too).

The harem scared moments NZ seem to turn on at will when hey need to is other worldly.

I didn't know this thread was running. I have been posting on the general rugby thread.

Perhaps that's why there haven't been many responses.

I can't help but feel this victory will just paper over the very large cracks in the WRU coaching set up. I have a feeling Scotland will put Wales to the sword in the opening 6N match. Wales typically slow to start their 6Ns campaigns as well....
