You suggested wales tended to do poorly in the autumn internationals but well in the 6N but they came 5th last time. I didn’t really see how that was a sign of doing well in the 6N.

Unfortunately Wales have stagnated under Gatland and Howley. Defence isn't a problem as Shaun Edwards is still doing his job. Wales seem to have one set move a match that they often pull off after that they are too formulaic in attack and more often than not seem to hoping to get outside or through teams by just going hands with a few half hearted forward dummy runners. Finally after being with Lions it has occurred to Gatland/howley they need to change hence this "new playing style" or whatever he called it.
Playing at home and heart have got wales their wins (ill ignore the "cramp" which struck Leon Brown, apparently from his face he wasn't aware of it wink. )
On the subject on injuries Scotland nearly turned over the ABs with some 3rd and 4th string players. Its they way they want to play and the way the coaches have them inspired to do that I feel is the big difference.
Personally I was hoping for a thumping from the springboks and then a change of leadership prior to 6 nations and world cup to revive wales, realistically though its seems Gatland is locked in till 2019 and from his point financially why would he leave as he said himself.

It’s great to see NH teams at the sharp end instead of what we have seen for years SH locking out the top 3.

One sad thing is the gulf between Teir1&2 v 3... the gulf is vast.
