I don’t know if anyone is interested in Cheltenham? I like to do a brief write up more for my own interest than anything and share between a few mates about my fancies. Anyway here it is, done a few multiples. Total outlay around £100 and will do some singles on the day when fields are confirmed.

Day 1

Supreme
1.30 - Fakir D’Oudaries - Bought for this by owner. Laid out for this and more experienced than most 4 year olds because of early start as a 3 year old in France. Gets 7lb weight for age which is useful and hosed up on GS at Cheltenham so no doubts about going or course.

Arkle
2.10 - Hardline - Overpriced at around 8/1. Stays further than 2m. Will be ridden quiet off the strong pace and pick up the pieces if they go too hard. Goes on any going and is pretty battle hardened with lots of racing under his belt.

Champion Hurdle
3.30 - Apples Jade - I have been over this race a few times and kept coming back to Apples Jade. If she runs like she did last time out they won’t get her off the bridle. Question marks over her performance last year but she was in season and as long that doesn’t happen again I think she will go close. I love Buver D’air but I think he’s not looked the same this year and could be vulnerable. Laurina could be anything but I think might get done for toe as she’s a big girl.

Day 2

Ballymore
1.30 - Klassical Dream - Hoping this horse comes here instead of the supreme where they have Aramon. It’s a race I don’t have a strong view on but hoping the extra yardage helps this guy. Already a grade 1 winner in Ireland.

RSA
2.10 - Delta Work - Don’t think Santini will run and even if he does, then there has to be question marks about the prep this week after the work injury. Top of the game doesn’t stay, and rest of field doesn’t look good enough. This guy jumps and stays as well as being a previous festival winner so we know he handles the track and going.

QMCC
3.30 Altior- Can’t have him beat. One of the best of all time over 2m.

Cross Country
4.10 Tiger Roll - Not a race I get involved in heavily but Tiger Roll looks a good thing.

Day 3

Stayers Hurdle
3.30 - Paisley Park - Banker in my opinion and the race lacks depth. Stays well, on any going and has won over C&D.

Day 4
Albert Bartlett

1.30 - Lisnagar Oscar - Trainer knows how to win this and this definitely stays on any going and has ran well here previously.

Gold Cup
3.30 - Bellshill I can’t get a handle on this race, no horse has won GC since 1927 without a prep run. I was keen on Presenting Percy until I saw that. Bellshill has class and might creep round and be in contention coming up the hill. Not a confident selection.

L15
Bellshill
Lisnagar Oscar
Klassical Dream
Hardline

Trixie
Apples Jade
Fakir ‘D Onaries
Delta Work

Any going to Cheltenham this year or been before? I have been 3 out of last 5 year. 2 Tuesdays and 1 Friday. I will enter competitions for tickets but not going otherwise

I love the Tuesday, so much build up and anticipation. It’s a great atmosphere without being too busy. I won GC tickets 2 years ago and I was glad to tick it off the bucket list. However it was far, far too busy. Literally like a rugby scrum to put a bet or get a drink!

I'm looking for value bets myself - seemed to do well last year following the same rule. Hopefully catch the tails of a trainer having a successful festival too if a 'pattern' emerges & conditions remain. Managed to land a 33/1 last festival which was nice! All bets with Skybet - thanks to that cashback offer.

Tuesday

1.30 - Amaron - 12/1 - Hasn't run since Feb. But out of his last 4 races, he was ridden by Townend 3 times & won twice (one win with Walsh on his back) albeit in much smaller fields - although he's only value if the ground firms up a bit i think.

2.10 - Kalashnikov 10/1 - Murphys best horse in her stable & Jack Quinlan rode this horse to second place in the Supreme Novice last year. Huge value for me at 10/1

2.50 - Lake View lad 20/1 - Bit of a punt this one. He's won his last two at this distance with the same Jockey but against a much weaker field. Could be a good EW option.

3.30 - Laurina - 7/2 - Don't see any value in Apples Jade or Buveur here so going for next best.

That's it for day 1 for me - will probably do singles & an EW lucky 15.

As usual most of my bets won’t be at Cheltenham but elsewhere! Have to bet on the first race everyday with Sky as it is “cash back” as opposed to a free bet.

Gone for Tokay Dokey £20 win @ 50/1

Good luck all .... your gonna need it at this level of racing wink

That's drifted to 66/1 already! Good luck. Hopefully we get some good winners in here this week!

Elixir De Nutz has fked me up in the Supreme, was really confident and now I am left without a strong fancy.

I will have a small bet on Fakir Doudairies, thanks to the SkyBet offer.

The ground is already very soft, and is only going to get heavier and more cut up as the week goes on. Some horses with big reputations made on good ground may not fancy it this week.

Did this and stupidly went Itchy Feet to win rather than EW. Annoying....

OK, so I've had Klassical Dream and Espoir DAllen so far.

I'm going for Stormy Ireland in the 16:10 and Good Man Pat in the 16:50.

Won’t be going but a group of us will be going to a few “racing” pubs in Cardiff, Hereford and our local.

Backed Silver Streak 33/1 ew in the Champion Hurdle.
Happy days at 80/1 SP third and a few quid extra at 100/1 wink

Carnage in the last at Cheltenham. The amateur jockeys really made a good job of being, er, amateur....
Unfortunately screens up around 3 horses lets hope for the best.

Tough day! Roksana saved the day for me. Discorama in the last would of turned profit but wasn’t to be. Going to wait and see if weather affects the running before I have a bet.
