I don't get it.

Russia banned for doping.

But your athletes can come anyway.

As long as they are clean.

2 Russian atheletes caught doping.

Russia unbanned for doping.
Just makes no sense. That's the IOC for you!

Most of the Russian drug taking in Sochi came out well after the actual games didn't it? How do we know that the same isn't going to happen this time, when they do more tests?

I'm confused as to why the next winter games are in Beijing. We just had an Asian city, so it's going to be a similar time zone again; plus it's not that long since Beijing had the summer games. Plus the nearest mountains are some 150 miles away, and it will be another all-manmade-snow games. Seems an odd choice.
Look at those two together, and there is only one possible conclusion you can draw.... The IOC are doping waaaay more than the Russians!

You could say the same for any sport.

If you will forgive me, I don't think that is strictly true.

In days of old an ability to run, jump and throw things better than the other caveman was a useful attribute. It ensured that your family stayed alive. So that gives at least a modicum of purpose to the Summer Olympics.

The Winter Olympics are a completely different matter. What useful purpose does it serve if you can go faster downhill on a teatray than another person?

It helped your family stay alive if you lived in snowy conditions. Since then, just like the Summer Olympic sports, it has been somewhat refined from its original form.

Why are they called team GB, when it is the UK competing?

Isn't it?

Did I miss the tobogganing?

Was there any?

Fecking curling was dire.

A number of the bobsleigh runs weren't shown in full, unless you used the red button.

If by tobogganing you mean skeleton bob, yes, there was some, yes you missed it, meaning you missed 2 of Team GB's medals.

Yeh bobsleigh not sliding down a hill on a tea tray.

Driver is ok but how the heck the other 3 climb in and then just look at the floor waiting for the bang I don't know.

Respect.

Yes I know the tea tray nutters thing is quite scary as well, but at least they get to see where they are going.

But why does the driver not wear gloves and the others do? I assume something to do with the controls but I did not see one driver with gloves on!
