You lucky bugger. What a great weekend you're going to have. Proper, proper envious.
I know, can't quite believe it is here! After Gleneagles we all said next time we're going - and we've actually managed to organise it. Amazing!

We have tickets for Saturday and Sunday. Back home on Monday!

Wish I was going on the weekend. Atmosphere will be amazing.

First 2 days will be key for us. We need to be in front as I think we will get a kicking on Sunday.

I think it'll be a lot tighter than people think it will be!

Some really poor performances last week for a few of the Americans at the Tour Championships:

Mickelson +13
Bubba +10
Reed +9
Koepka +4

DeChambeau rallied a bit but was also very off colour.

Rose, McIlroy (apart from his final day blues), Fleetwood, Rahm, Casey were all solid.

I think the US lads might all be struggling to get their heads round this course.

Exactly this. I was very surprised that more of them didn't come over and play the French Open earlier in the season to get a feel for the place!

My bet is placed, and sadly, as I did two years ago, it is for the other side of the pond to win. Have you placed your bets?

I’m a jinx with betting, so my money is staying in my wallet laugh

Sky sports are doing a good job of showing every shot that ends up in the water for the Americans in the practice round, shortly followed by a European player stiffing one.

Stiffing one what? An American!? I for one like the French approach to all this.

Reading you golf players talking about the Ryder Cup this year , left me a little puzzled about golf in France.

I have never read of any top French golf players or world class courses, so I wondered how much interest there is for the game in France? Is the game covered in their national press or television?

Ok. Here goes

I hate the Ryder Cup. Rather, I can't abide the crowds and their ignorant, nasty, jingoistic chanting.

I've avoided watching it since The War On The Shore. I switched on this morning, out of curiosity for the first tee offs, only to be met by chants of "USA,USA" met by a chorus of boos.

That's not golf as I want to watch.

Yes, I'm old. hehe

Victor Dubuisson was the big French name a while back. He won a couple of times and played the 2014 Ryder Cup. He’s disappeared since..not sure what’s happened to him.

There’s Alexander Levy who’s decent and a couple of others, but no one really up there.

In the 90s Jean Van de Velde was famous for almost winning the open at Carnoustie where he jumped in the burn on 18 to try and play a shot. Total head melt!

There’s quite a lot of decent courses in northern France that are popular with British holiday makers but I don’t think golf is anywhere near as popular as in the UK.
