I'm a big fan of cheap balls and have been playing the slazenger v100. Very impressed with them.
Pretty sure these are the modern version of the old Dunlop Tour Soft balls which I've been enjoying for a while now, think I'll invest in a couple of boxes of these V100s.

Has anyone seen Steve Johnson's 'Eureka swing' on YouTube?

Ignoring the slightly gimmicky name this particular set up has drastically changed how I hit my irons. Consistency has improved massively, very satisfying divots with each shot and a proper feeling of compressing the ball.

Tested it out on the range a bit and got to play 9 holes this evening. Shot 19 points, which included a blob, off a handicap of 8.

Through to the next round of the club knock out.

Beat a 3 handicapper on the last hole on Saturday night (I’m off 13 so he had to give me 10 shots).

I have to say I did play well. My opponent shot 1 over the card on the front nine and was 3 down (I shot 4 over!).

He brought it back to all square after 13 but I managed to hold on and beat him on the last with a good par 4 on a tough closing hole.

Get in!

Playing tomorrow at the Manor at Castle Combe in a pro-am with work, haven’t played since October (when I beat my new boss with 42 points laugh ) and to be honest I’m feeling so broken and achy I can’t see it going very well for me.
Last few times I’ve played there I’ve scored 31/32 points off of a 24 handicap which I thought wasn’t bad given I don’t play very often, but then having come off with 42 the last time he’s requested I drop my handicap. If I played more than a handful of times a year it wouldn’t be so bad but I can see tomorrow being a low scoring rather than low hitting game!

Could be worse though, when I go out with my old man he won’t ever give me more than 18 because “I know you’ve got it in you” which I think is just parent speak for “you’re not beating me this time m’laddo!

Golf eh, who’d play it?

If you like that then try Stack and Tilt. This is S&T with an open stance, which I like actually!

Had one of those rare days this week where all parts of the game were working at once, 41pts playing off 14, best round i've ever had, even the bunker shots were working which is a long-forgotten pleasure for me.
Rollup tomorrow might bring me back to earth but for the moment I'm still enjoying the buzz and very heartened to find out what is possible when everything is going OK. Really glad I flogged off the Pings to force myself into playing with the old Titleist blades.

Just realised there are two golf threads running here? One '18 and one '19.
