Is that right, the bloke who he fought had over 40 losses on his record?
That's a disgrace if true. No wonder it went under the radar, his team must have been too embarrassed to promote out.
It isn't a disgrace - it's a compliance fight to fit in with the WBO rules. That's a disgrace if true. No wonder it went under the radar, his team must have been too embarrassed to promote out.
You can't fight for a WBO world title coming off the back of a loss - so promoters arrange this type of low-key fight against a journeyman just to tick the box.
Now he has a win (albeit meaningless) Warren can put him forward as being eligible to fight for the vacant title.

All IMHO.

He knocked him out in the 2nd round. A bloke with that kind of record against Yarde is a mismatch that does nothing for boxing and has the potential to bring it into disrepute. The bloke actually has a record of 4-48-3.
All IMHO.
Both fighters (and the referee) will have known what this particular fight was all about so it didn't really stand a chance of becoming something dangerous. I only watched it briefly, but the shots which put him down were body shots. All IMHO.
If there was something bad, it wasn't so much the other guys record, but that he was a much smaller guy - I just checked boxrec in fact and it shows Ramirez as a middleweight albeit that his last couple of fights were super-middle.
As I said in my last post, the requirement for this fight is just a quirk of the WBO rules - Warren didn't want any publicity, Yarde just needed to come out with the win. No harm was done - in fact, best way to think of it is as an easy sparring session. And crucially we can hopefully now see Yarde getting back to contesting some of the top names later this year.

So Josh Warrington has left Frank Warren and signed with Matchroom. Not too long ago since BJS and Liam Smith left him to sign with matchroom.
Yes, I saw that today too. I was listening to a podcast with an interesting take on things. They were suggesting Warrington's team is insisting on unification fights which means striking a deal with Arum or Al Haymon's fighters. But they will only allow a unification is it takes place in the US rather than Leeds/UK.
And because Warrington doesn't have a big name outside of the UK it would mean Warren paying him a lot for little or even no return.
Also the podcast was saying Warrington rejected Warren's alternative suggestion of a rematch with Frampton. So Warren has instead decided to concentrate his efforts into Dubois (signing him up to what would be a very expensive 5 year contract extension) and Yarde.
Which will leave Hearn with an interesting dilemma. He will want to build cards around Warrington and Leeds as his northern boxing hub. But Warrington wants the unification fights which will mean fighting in the US. So interesting to see what happens.

Looking forward to Wilder v Fury 2 this weekend, re-watched their first fight last night.
Predictions?
It's a 50/50 fight, but I think Wilder will do it. Predictions?
Of course I would like Fury to win, but there are a few factors i) Fury hasn't looked amazing in his last two fights ii) the deep cut he suffered in his last fight could easily open up again iii) whilst Fury can be evasive, I think Wilder's team will be concentrating on spotting his patterns of movement to help Wilder predict how Fury is going to react iv) the fundamental change in Fury's training regime could easily cause new issues due to lack of familiarity.
Whilst Fury is unconventional, he does have a few similar patterns of defensive movements which Wilder will have been able to practise for. So I suspect Wilder will catch him at some point in the fight.
Predictions? That it will end in a manner that will encourage fans to want to pay up for the 3rd of the pre-agreed trilogy.
Millions more to be made by everyone all round, it's all fixed
That Fury shove was good, was like Bruce Lee's one inch punch the way Wilder flew. Good job it's not a wrestling match!

If it is fixed, which like everything in life and more so in todays society (more than likely because P's are involved).Millions more to be made by everyone all round, it's all fixed

Which way will they go? Fury hasn't really got a KO in him that I can see. Wilder definitely has but hes just not a technical boxer, more a basketball player with a punch.
So how will they market a Wilder KO? for the trilogy I mean, how can Fury comeback from getting beaten by a Basketball player? They only way this realistically get a trilogy is a draw (zzzzz another robbery which would be unbelievable) or a Majority decision for Fury.
Is anyone else worried about Fury's previous fight and the terrible cut?

I'm not certain, but I think you can buy the fight through Sky. Go to the fight in your planner (Ch490 Sat 11.00pm) and press 'record'. It will tell you if you can purchase. Is there another way to buy?
