Way before my time but I’ve enjoyed watching countless of his videos on YouTube. RIP champ.

One of the all time greats, and an inspiration to many great boxers, sounds like a tragic accident.

Sweet Pea was a great boxer, got robbed twice (Ramirez and Chavez) when the WBC appointed judges favor Don King fighters.

I totally agree. Frank Warren is usually so cautious with his fighters, to throw Yarde into this as his first real world championship level bout seems unusual. Kovolevs best may have been spent on Ward but he's still a very high level and classy operator and in Russia I'd say he'll be extremely intimidating.
I’m going to be bold here and say I think Yarde will blow him away. He is supremely confident.

I’ll be placing a fair wager on Yarde at 2/1. I don’t even think it will be close.
I have a feeling this is the right time to get to kovalev, I think he has lost three of last six and is looking old and uninspired
yes He got knocked out recently as well. When Yarde lands I think it will be lights outs.

That's the same guy Kovalev handled easily in their rematch. And this time, whilst he has signed up to Vada testing, he has done so effectively at 5 weeks before the fight. This means he has had a lot of time to gain a meaningful and decent uplift in "performance" which Vada can't pick up.

Allen vs Price on the Whyte vs Rivas undercard has me more interested, I'm frankly a bit disappointed Manny is still at it and even more disappointed in Freddie Roaches decision to work with him again, call me cynical but he's had 3 careers worth of fights already, it can't end well from here IMO.

Did you see the news? Khan announced to the BBC that he had signed to fight Manny in Saudi Arabia, Nov 8th. Manny was asked about it and he was like WTF are you on about hehehttps://youtu.be/qkpTfo2395Y?t=76

Manny ending his career with a KO of Khan would be welcomed biggrin

Agree. We all know money talks in boxing. But Manny is not the same incredible athlete he was in the early 2000's.

Kovalev is looking old in the ring now. Once they get that look they rarely have long left. I agree with the view Yarde has him at the right time.

He didn't look that old in his last fight - in fact he made the win look comfortable. Andre Ward sums it up well for me...

I still want Yarde to win, but I'm sorry to say he won't.

Beauty of sport - we don't know, we only think we know and different opinions make it interesting. smile

Have any black sportsmen gone to Russia lately?

Just wondering how intimidating it will be for Yarde, as Russia and the Eastern block countries, as seen in football, can be all out racist nuts.

Yarde won’t care.

He won but he’s shown he’s not got a granite chin. And if Yarde hits you then you need a granite chin.

Anyone give Rivas a chance? Haven't seem the kid but has a good pedigree. Not impressed by the fact that he was loseing to Bryant Jennings before forcing the stoppage?

I agree. He'll use it as motivation if anything. What he won't want is it going to points, even though I think that's highly unlikely.
