Whyte will learn from this and improve his defence. A KO and not outboxed so will recover.
The thing is that Whyte was boxing well. And his defence and balance looked good. But that uppercut... what a shot!

Terrible entrance. I want £5 back.
You don't like Jaws?
He was wooden, dad dancing. As a boxer he should have been light on his feet.

T'was a sign wink

sky commentary was dreadful. Sasha was down twice yes, but never outclassed, and done much better than the team suggested. And. Bang. Goodnight. Nothing lucky about that, he had been trying the body head combo all night. Just made fifty quid!!

Yep, and apparently he says he had watched Whyte and thought he was vulnerable to this type of uppercut, so he had been working on it in camp... amazing!

Bit of a cliche but damn one punch is all it takes. Boom game over. Iced out. Whyte had the fight in his pocket and Povetkin just found a one hitta quitta.

His ego is growing.

It was introduced as "Brought to you by Eddie Hearn and matchroom boxing" as opposed to just Matchroom.

Let's be honest - Hearn's skills are exceptional. And he is earning millions per year. There is no way we will see him taking a pay cut down to £82k per year which is an MP's salary - his watch collection will be worth 10 times that!

That was very much a Mike Tyson style uppercut like when he took out Marvis Frasier.
Get in close, create the gap and bang.
Up until then Dillian was way ahead and in control. That probably puts him out of the frame of fighting AJ or Fury for some time or maybe even ever.

Will it? Rematch in a few month will put him back where he was won't it?

There are not that many big names in the Heavyweight division that will sell the tickets, and I think both AJ and Fury would consider the risk-reward to be favorable.

He is 32, so has a few years left.

I thought the commentary made Whyte out to be absolutely dominating, which he wasn't. Yes, he won every round, but, and i will watch it back, I thought Povetkin hurt him to the body at least twice and stumbled him with a jab at one point. Povetkin was setting up that uppercut all night, looked to me as though whyte was expecting another hurtful bodyshot when Povetkin switched to the head and bingo.
