Many, many thanks ben5575 and Daniel1 for your thoughtful replies.

Those are some really helpful pointers and things to consider, and not just for boxing but for any novice training. It's really appreciated thumbup

not coached in a few years, but only you know your son and what motivates him.

you have to keep it fun and and be realistic about things

The biggest thing I would say is teach the basics of defense first and always refer back to them when teaching anything else. I'm not saying don't let him hit a bag/pad but pay more attention to keeping the chin down, guard up and head moving. It seems a bit counter intuitive at first but we've all seen what happens to the confident kid with no head movement when he finally gets to spar.

Jack dempsey said you should learn the mechanics of punching first.

I was hoping that Fury would be fighting Joseph Parker as I think that would be a challenge for him.

I can't think of a more boring fight to be honest.

Saunders v Martin Murray also announced, 4th December at SSE Arena, Wembley.
I like Martin, known him a long time. Would love for him to pull this off. I think this is just too late in his career.

Agreed. Fireworks on Halloween. Never seen Chisora so focussed. Should be a good one.

Disappointed that this is a PPV a fight like this doesn't warrant it.

Usually Eddie packs the undercard when the headline is a bit dodgy but this one is probably the worst PPV card he has put on.

I just don’t see chisora making the final bell, he’s there to be hit and has been stopped before.

I see a lot of pundits giving it to usyk on points but I don’t think chisora will see round 8

Can't see any way Del can win this one. Looks like a good work out for Usyk and no more.

This is real Matador v Bull stuff and I know the bull wins sometimes but not this time. If Del had better skills then maybe with the weight he'd have a chance but he's crude and slow. It won't be enough.

I've got my order in. Looks like our dream 6 weeks of boxing will be affected by another lockdown so make the most of tonight. Still think Usyk will get a late stoppage. Del Boy says he's going to try and smother him early on I think he'll be blowing by round 7. He's supposed to have done 12 rounds at a mega pace in sparring but that very different to having the added mental pressure of Usyk on you. I think Usyk will keep him at range and Chisora will run out of gas.

Or one of those overhand rights will clobber Usyk!

This clip of Usyk vs Joe Joyce gives a good indication how Usyk is able to handle a much bigger man. Think we can expect something very similiar to happen to Chisora.

And I can't not have another dig at this PPV undercard. Nothing close to being a worthy of a PPV undercard.

Lee Selby vs George Kambosos
Savannah Marshall vs Hannah Rankin
Tommy McCarthy vs Bilal Laggoune
Ramla Ali vs Eva Hubmeyer
Amy Timlin vs Carly Skelly

Thing is Del Boy moves better than Joyce and wants to fight inside, he will not fight anything like Joyce in that clip. Joyce is still just as wooden, has 1 tactic and that’s at range looking for that bomb.

Del will have a couple of good round but run out of steam fairly quickly swinging away inside without major success.

Why is the main ring walk at 10.30.

Ukraine is 2 hours ahead of GMT along with neighbouring countries,so will be midnight there. Surely there can't be much demand for this fight in the USA.

Should have ringwalked at 9pm!

This really is a dire card, the women’s fights first one spoiled because they should have been 3 minute rounds which helps the flow of the fight and probably allow a bit of dominance to be established or at least keep a round competitive.

Second one complete mismatch, opponent looked like someone that at best trains at a boxing gym for the fun of it but in all honesty my missus did that and had a few fights and having watched her fights back she’s much much cleaner technically than that German lass.

I’ve only really paid for tonight as she’s a big fan of Hannah rankin and I’m hoping Chisora can spring an upset

Cruiser weight bout was entertaining, decent matched scrap, looked more British title level than European to me but hey, a decent watch
