Chisora is starting the end of his career now. At his level its all about Joyce/Dubois etc the changing of the guard.
He's got some entertaining scraps left in him but if he's fighting top class fighters it will be in their ascension not for titles. I think Whyte is possibly about to be on that path too.
I just can't see Joyce being good enough. He's tomorrow's Chisora in my opinion. Dubois might get there but I don't see him being anywhere good enough to stay there. Having said that, I haven't looked at who else is coming up stateside or elsewhere in a similar age bracket. I think Fury could stay at the top for the next five years but not sure he can be bothered. He's got some entertaining scraps left in him but if he's fighting top class fighters it will be in their ascension not for titles. Crawford vs Brook this weekend.
Thoughts? Has Brook bitten off more than he can chew?
Tempted to stick a couple of quid on Brook to win on points ??
Well, there is no question Brook is likely to lose. There are few points going against BrookThoughts? Has Brook bitten off more than he can chew?
Tempted to stick a couple of quid on Brook to win on points ??
i) He is well past his best, and hasn't looked good imo since the damage to his eye sockets
ii) He has said he wants one last big cashout fight before retiring (which suggests this is a swansong rather than he thinks he has a good chance of winning)
iii) He has left Matchroom for this fight so he doesn't need to pay their fees, but this means he is definitely the "away" fighter with little protection
iv) He also left his trainer for the same reason he left Matchroom to maximise his cash rather than his chance of winning
So the odds are stacked against him. The question is whether the current odds (7:1) represent good value. I'd say no. If it were 15:1 it might be worth the risk.
After a few rounds where he will give his all, probably one way. Suspect no KO, so either towel thrown in, or badly beaten to points.
On the plus side, unlike Khan, you would imagine Kell won't bail out by choice. (now he has no eye sockets left to be broken). As long as he is a warrior and doesn't get hurt, all good.

If as is likely, Brook loses on Saturday then both him Khan will have nowhere else to go but to fight each other next summer which would be a lucrative and fitting finish for both of them.
Brook divesting himself of trainer and manager suggests his heart really isn't in the Crawford fight.

McGuigan v Frampton ends in a draw. Towels simultaneously thrown in.

Not exactly President Khan has better things to be doing...Brook divesting himself of trainer and manager suggests his heart really isn't in the Crawford fight.

Hmmm... that's interesting. Reading the quotes attributed to Frampton and McGuigan, it looks like Frampton won most of the argument.https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/news/belfast-news/ca...

Didn't they discover the 10'000 emails that the mcguigans claimed were deleted and not recoverable half way through the trial? Frampton stating he was very happy with the outcome on Twitter so suggests that those discovered emails would be very damming on the mcguigans so they've settled out of court with an NDA signed to avoid the bad press

Please tell me the Brook fight isn't on PPV...
Premier Sports have picked it up: https://www.premiersports.com/crawford-brookHave to subscribe, not sure what cancellation period is. In view of the US time it is being shown, and having to sign up, doubt many will watch live.

Watched the weigh in and post weigh in interview. Kell looks in amazing shape, but his face has no fat on it at all so will the cut have drained him?
Also whilst Brook is bigger, Crawford has a 5" reach advantage...
Can't see Brook winning. Will give a good account of himself, but after the early rounds, I would suspect it will look to be a clear Crawford win.
Its on non-ppv ESPN in the USA so hopefully gets good ratings, and so the winner can get a fight of note afterwards with Spence or similar.
Good luck Kell.

Brook always looks like that at the weigh-in. His techniques at making weight are impressive (cough). The problem is that he doesn't live the life. And so cutting the weight will inevitably have taken its toll on stamina etc.
Think we should expect a Crawford KO.
