Just read up, they have agreed to try one fight to see if suitable. Expected to be against Chisora, May 1st.

andy lee is a top tier boxing brain... he basically lived with manny steward and the time he has spent around sugarhill must have been worth it's time too.... you can tell from his punditry what a top analytical brain he is.. one of my favourite commentators.

Apparently, Joseph Parker is involved in a Meth ring.

I know Meth is a big problem in New Zealand and amongst the Maori peoples but never thought I'd see Parker's name involved in such a story.

He never exactly struck me as anything but a bit of a simpleton but this is crazy.

Asked my mate about this, he is a boxing trainer in Oz, he assures me it's a load of rubbish but I wonder if Joe's naivety has got him embroiled in something?

Hopefully, otherwise he is finished.

Don't see it ending his career unless he's arrested, charged and imprisoned. Not like there aren't loads of boxers, promoters, managers and trainers with major convictions.

Watched a few of Joe's fights recently, tough cookie, almost stopped Dillian but too little too late, think he was gifted title against Ruiz but what a chin, hard man...think it would have been a much more interesting night against AJ had he not been fighting the ref too.....

Sure he is meant to be fighting del boy which has war written all over it...

What a boxer he was.

Was that the "golden age" of boxing or am I just nostalgic?

Genuinely shocked about Hagler's passing.

My all time favorite boxer from a no-nonsense era.

His story is fascinating, as is his training methods in Cape Cod.

A 24 carat, all time great. The Hearns fight and kicking the racist Minter’s arse are my favourite memories of him.

May he rest in peace.

Up there with the best ever to lace them up and arguably the greatest chin of all time.

Not just nostalgia. Marvellous Marvin Hagler was one of the four Kings from the golden era of boxing.

He fought Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas The Hitman Hearns and Roberto ‘No Mas’ Duran, losing only to Sugar Ray. What an era that was.

RIP Marvin

Side note - not sure if this is true or not, but Thomas Hearns posted that Hagler died due to Covid19 vaccine complications. There is a lot of chatter on boxing forums about this too.

A very sad day for world boxing what a fighting machine Marvin was. He had everything a chin seemingly carved out of granite great movement ,power a relentless pressure fighter with a tremendous determination and was always a fabulously conditioned athlete. with a menacing aura backed up with the goods in the ring.

For me when I look at the likes of Canelo and Golovkin as good as they are in this era in my mind there is no way they could beat the marvelous one. Can you imagine Canelo trying to dictate the pace against Hagler no chance Hagler would have either ground him down and stopped him on his feet late or won a lopsided points decision in my view. you could not deter the man(thinking hearns when he hit hagler with shots that would make a light heavy fold) and he just kept coming and coming.

RIP champ

Murray and Marvin within 24 hours. A terrible day not just for boxing and F1, but for sport. I was too young to remember watching Hagler growing up but I’ve seen a lot of footage, dad is a big fan of his. RIP Marvin.
