I think he is one of those anomalous fighters whose performance can't be judged by his physical ability. His father maintains he is a 19st plus fighter and he looked physically Bob on against Wallen yet this was his worst performance for a good while. He is a big man, not a muscle man, but I have noticed he has that old man strength a younger man shouldn't have. He handles much more physically imposing fighter in the clinch with little problems, he knows how to use his physicality.
I think that's probably a centre of gravity thing, the big guys with huge shoulders, biceps and backs are a bit top heavy making them a bit easier to move around maybe? Fury's weight is definately a bit more central.
He is deceiving. Properly big dude, thick arms and shoulders, broad back. I provided security for one of his gigs and whilst i didn't work or meet him several of my staff did and said they could not believe how imposing he is

I can well believe it, he's 6ft 9 and 130kg, it's not normal human size, even for big guys, love handles or not. Slightly sub average guys like myself feel like that all the time - now you know why we're angry all the time!!! smile

Very bizarre press conference. Read a YouTube comment somewhere that compared Wilder to a child trying to act cool like his favourite superhero, which I thought hit the nail on the head. Get what he was going for, with his little poem, but it comes off so strange. He seemed happy to talk to interviewers etc after so I guess just couldn't be arsed talking with (against) Fury, which I get.

Not paying to watch it but it'll be interesting to see if he comes out swinging or tries to box a bit.

Fury is a freak and I mean that in the nicest way possible.
No one his height and weight moves the way he does. He has a monster reach with mr tickle arms that allows him to lean back and avoid punches whilst striking at will.
His worst nightmare would be a Mike Tyson type fighter who just charges in past his reach and batters him.
Andy Ruiz maybe the man to beat him?
AJ has the strength and punch power to do it but whether he can or not we will probably never know.
Wilder still has that punchers chance but only a slim one.

No chance Ruiz even touches him, he doesn't have the footwork/footspeed. He'd be retiring on his stool just like Chisora did.

Two polar opposite fighters but I would like to see him up against Usyk and Joyce. I think incredible stamina will be key to beating Fury and they both have that. Joyce has great foot movement and he's big enough to possibly land his jab, I could see Fury winning most rounds but Joyce doing enough damage to maybe stop him in later rounds when his conditioning shows through. Unlikely but maybe.

Usyk probably can't get around the reach advantage but he's the only HW that's a better boxer than Fury. He is also fantastic at making adjustments mid fight (Hunter is a good example of that where he stopped trying to land his jab after the first few rounds and worked him hard on the inside) and that's something you need to beat Fury. Not just a gameplan but the ability to adjust when it isn't working because that's exactly what Fury can do.

Agree an 80s Tyson type would be the style to really put him in trouble but they don't exist at the moment. Parker has fast hands but doesn't have the aggression to beat the big boys.

Joyce would give Fury a good run for sure I think he's criminally underrated I really hope he gets some good fights over the next couple of years.

Usyk is the one to watch.

Still think AJ will duck him!

Fury gave an interview and he made an interesting suggestion, he said that if Wilder had not behaved that way, with his headphones in, the reporters would have asked him non stop about all his many excuses for losing the second fight.

But because he refused to talk, they could not.

I have only seen her box once a couple of weeks ago in the European qualifier final when she lost.

Potential yes, but lots of work to do I think.

Canelo continues to astonish me with his appetite for fighting bigger and stronger guys.

He would sign to fight King Kong if you paid him enough.

She lost a split decision in the final to someone a decade older with 81 adult amateur bouts under her belt. I recommend watching the 3 bouts prior to that which she won, all against very experienced amateurs (including the woman who beat Katie Taylor at the 2016 Olympics).

I'm not saying she's the best in the world right now, but what she's doing at 20 years old is incredible. BoxRec has her ranked number 3 of all amateur women already. She's got fantastic footwork, moves her head well, throws sharp, accurate punches and sets traps for her opponents. She's going to be absolutely huge, I'm sure of it. Will go on to achieve more than her brother for sure.
