They need a panel to look at decisions like that and quash the result and force a rematch.

That is a fking travesty and I really feel for Catterall.

I mean how? Down once, and beaten (for me) at least 8 rounds. Both got deducted, so where’s the 114-111. I knew the fix was in with that ref, he was garbage. Really enjoyed the fight, but the result has left a sour taste tbh.

Should never judge another boxing match.

111-114 would have been an injustice

It's been a while since we've seen such a crap call

It puts you off the sport in a big way.

With decisions like that, it's not a sport any more. It's corrupted. Pure and simple.

Agree to all of the above 100%, absolutely shocking decision.

I mean, if this was Vegas we'd blame the mob, if it was Mexico we'd blame the cartels. Someone, somewhere is making money from this and they need to be found and banned from any sport involvement.

The promoter has said he's embarrassed by the result. Doesn't help though does it. Rubbish

Agree about the panel, but why a rematch? The panel needs to be overturning ludicrous decisions like this and giving the belts to the deserved winner.

Yet another decision, like the F1 a few weeks ago, where the result is decided by fools on the outside. Why bother tuning in?

I was going to ask about Ben Davidson and Taylor. I see they've only been together for 2 fights.

I really think he's a hugely overrated trainer and fighters seem to struggle under his stewardship.

I need to check my facts, but he seems to turn up, out think himself and leave his fighters looking confused and lost at times.

That was a disgrace. One judge had Taylor winning by four clear rounds after being knocked down, in what was a one sided fight up till about the ninth, by which time the fight was lost. I might have given Taylor three rounds, maybe four. I am disgusted this can happen, Catterall was fantastic tonight.

What was all that about? I don’t watch boxing very often but until the last 3 rounds the challenger had the champ all over the shop except maybe the third round iirc. So that’s 4 to 8 rounds at best not including the knockdown. Don’t think I’ll bother watching it again what a waste of my time.

Another bad night for UK boxing this is as bad as Hattons completely blatant corrupt "win" in his last fight. Something needs to be done.

Overall it was a piss poor fight hardly any clean work from either fighter way too much holding from both. A scrappy affair I had Catterall 4 up plus the knockdown. If Taylor has any minerals they should rematch but obviously that won't happen.

Results like this should be looked into by police not least for the fact that anyone that put money on Catterall yesterday has been robbed there! It's boxing the most corrupt of all sports? No wonder the Olympics are talking about kicking boxing out!

Those scorecards were truly terrible.

Clearly Top Rank had enough money to pay the judges off.

If I was Dillan Whyte I would be seriously looking into the selection of the judges and how they will be held accountable for their scores. That is another Top Rank show and it's clear based on last night he won't be getting a fair crack of the whip.

Taylor was terrible last night, I'm sure the weight was a big factor in it but maybe he just isn't as good as we all thought. He looked clueless with Jack's shoulder roll defence.

Another Scottish, Taylor fan utterly disgusted by that judging.

Was Adalaide Byrd on one of the cards?

Personally I think Taylor is using being weight-drained as an excuse.

I think he looked at Catterall and thought 'I'm levels above you'. And so rather than boxing, he wanted to run him over, in front of his home crowd. But he got caught early, felt embarrassed, and decided to double down. And so he used the same tactics all night, and just got picked off.

Should have lost on the scorecards, I agree. And it was a bad tempered affair too with lots of fouling.

Taylor needed to be less arrogant, and use more controlled aggression, like he did in his fight against Postol. But his ego wouldn't allow it.

Wouldn't disagree on those points. I'm not a fan of his character, doesn't come across well to me.

Also he was tucking into a Domino's the night before his fight saying on his Instagram how big he was going to be in the ring. I didn't think he filled out all that much tbh and maybe that is normal for fighters to have meals like that the night before?

I think a lot of that type of thing is mind games. Like Fury going on a bender when in reality he's mid camp.

Catterall was rough leading with his shoulder all the time. He frustrated Taylor but didn't outclass him. It was a tight fight but with that knockdown he was robbed. Taylor not having any of it in the post fight interviews.

No need for Ms Byrd when we have our own usual suspects of judges stinking up the place.

We need a few retirements for a start. We also perhaps need an inquiry stage for these top fights were the judges explicitly state why they gave each round to a fighter - these comments should then be put in the public domain.

Some transparency is urgently required.

Do we think that would make any difference? We all know what is going on, and it's a balance of power and money problem, just like it is with PEDs. And no-one really cares, despite what they say on twitter.

If promoters really wanted it fixed, they could easily change it. If broadcasters wanted it fixed, they could insist on changes immediately. They all just play lip-service, mainly when they're embarrassed when it looks so obvious.
