So anybody else following The 2018 FIDE World Chess Championship: Carlsen vs Caruana that started this week? Two fascinating young players, utterly superb, and a brutal mind game...

I normally wait for the YouTube commentators to get something up. It's the only way I comprehend what's going on! rotate

Personally I prefer players from previous chess generations like Tal. I find modern games a bit 'computery'

I'm on LiChess username BoingBoingHatstand if you fancy a game!

So 11 games in and it's 5.5 vs 5.5 - will we see a result in the 12th game or onto blitz tiebreak?

Great to see a chess thread smile

I don't play now but was quite successful at school as an under 12. I remember playing John Nunn in the London U12 championships (1966 I think), he won that competition and I was 3rd, still got the prize " How to win at Chess"

I just had a look at his web site and he mentions that championship as his first big win. He was a totally different league.

After that I ended up being captain of south London schools, but my desire to play once I went to secondary school just left me.

Carlsen has just retained his world crown!
