Anyone using these and if so which ones? Have you ‘written’ any of your own?

I'm keen to know this.

I have currently only got one set up, which I wrote. It uses Apple Maps to get the time it will take to drive home from my current location, then sends an iMessage to my wife with the ETA.

That’s a good idea with the eta. I wrote one which sends her a message with my location and link to a dropped pin.

Got another which adds a simple calendar entry with a title and £ amount to enter my expenses.

If you use google maps it offers a follow me option for live route progress.

When I first read the thread title I thought you meant keyboard shortcuts (quick keys) – of which I use lots!

Although it seems as though you're talking about something different?

It’s for iOS. This is better than me explaining it: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208309

Ah nice! I presumed it was something like this that Apple had launched (I'm yet to update my phone to iOS 12).

Looks very IFTTT-esque!

Any reason why you’ve held off updating?

The shortcuts in ios come from apples acquisition of an app called Workflow, here's a link to their sit which may help https://workflow.is
I used to use it to calculate days until a certain date, web clipping that sort of thing, I think people have set up full GTD systems with it, it is fairly powerful in Apples walled garden.

Cba more than anything. Normally when that little reminder comes up its not a suitable time to do it.

I don't normally update immediately anyway just to avoid and initial bug testing but I've left it particularly long this time. Maybe I'll do it now!

Interesting. I've long wanted a way to get a nudge/alarm/reminder if it's likely to freeze overnight, so I can put a cover on the windscreen.
I'll have to see whether one of the weather apps report forecast min temps...

Here you go. No sure how you would get it to auto notify you thought. I’m not sure that is possible.

Thanks Pistonheads, I didn’t know this existed. I’ve now set up a number of shortcuts!
